@Barbara Hobart the audio technica atr 2100x mic sounds kinda unbelieveably good for the price. I got one on amazon for $50 on amazon with a stand. It is also plug and play.

Need some help on choosing a podcast mic

I’ve been looking for a while … want to buy a good mic for podcasting. Ideally it will need to be packed up and able to easily travel. But most of all great quality and easy to use. I’m looking at either 1. the RØDE NT-USB+ or 2. the Shure SM7B with a Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen USB Audio Interface Any help here would be great. Thanks 🙏🏻

Are you looking to interview other people in person or you doing solo episodes or interviewing people over the web?

I don't recommend a condenser mic like the rode when traveling because the room you are in probably won't be treated and you will hear lots of echo. Get a dynamic mic. I have used the sm7b Focusrite combo for years and it sounds fantastic but if you want the same sound and it be even simpler, get the Shure Mv7. Sounds nearly identical and it's USB so no interfaces needed
