Med ball
Hi there! Can someone please help me with suggestions on what to use to substitute the med ball to give me same effect? My gym does have one but doesn’t have a dedicated area for slams or walls to slam so basically I can’t use it for slams at all. Thank you so much!

@Claudia Garaiacu If you love to slam, I'd definitely recommend trying striking (martial art). 😉 Otherwise, another gym is probably your best option. If you're mainly after the same training effect, landmine exercises can be a great substitute. And if you just enjoy releasing some energy, a heavy bag will become your best friend.

@Claudia Garaiacu That's awesome! I'm happy you found a gym that lets you slam. 😄 Have fun with your training, and enjoy those slams! 💥🥊
How do you guys manage your athletes?
I'm curious what software or apps you're using to manage multiple athletes (programming, tracking, communication, testing, etc.). Any advices?

@Aria VazifehThanks for sharing! That's actually a pretty simple and practical system. Do you ever feel like you're missing any features, or does it already cover everything you need? A friend and I are currently developing an app for coaches, so I'm genuinely interested in learning where people feel current solutions fall short. If you're ever interested in trying it out and giving some honest feedback, I'd be happy to let you test it.
Balancing Three Worlds
Anyone else balancing coaching, training, and a full-time career? I'm currently working full-time in engineering while coaching athletes and staying committed to my own training. Most days it's not the work or training that's difficult—it's managing energy, recovery, and time consistently. What's been your biggest challenge? And what has helped you manage it successfully?
@Aria Vazifeh That's a great point. I guess sometimes it's enough to just keep moving forward, even if you're not operating at 100%. I'm working toward making sports my full-time career as well. My hope is that one day I can shape my environment around the life I want to live, instead of constantly adapting to it.

@Nathan Cortez I really like the idea of time blocking. I actually used to do it myself, but somehow I stopped. Do you usually split your days into different blocks, or do you plan your week that way? I'd love to hear how you structure it.
Good Morning!
It’s been some time since I’ve posted. Been doing the family bonding thing. Important. Back in the gym today. Still struggling with getting enough protein in my body. Thinking about prepping meals for the week. Anyone doing this and can pass on some pointers?. Sounds like a lot of work. 🙏

I struggle with meal prep as well. The biggest thing for me is keeping it simple. My go-to meals are usually a salad with boiled eggs, or grilled fish/meat with potatoes. Nothing fancy, but it's easy to prepare, easy to track, and helps me stay consistent. For me, simplicity beats the perfect meal plan every time.
From Austria to Florida – see you at Eudemonia?🤝
Hey everyone, as I mentioned before, I'm Phil from Austria. My background is in engineering, but over the last years I've been increasingly moving towards strength & conditioning, combat sports, and athlete development. What excites me most is building systems, solving problems, and helping people reach their potential—whether that's athletes, teams, or performance programs. This November I'll be visiting Florida and attending Eudemonia. I'm looking forward to meeting coaches, learning from different environments, and hopefully connecting with some of you in person. Looking forward to learning from this community! Phil
