Spam Score Interpretation - Aged Domain
@Matthew Zivkovic I was going through aged domain section. This domain has high spam score of around 45%, but is still considered a great domain as per example given in classroom notes. So while picking up domains, how much importance shall we give to spam score?

look at the backlinks to the domain, either use a tool or enter "domain-com" into google, and look at domain in https://web.archive.org/
Does the area code in a phone number affect SEO rankings?
I put my website into ChatGPT for an audit, and it gave me a list of issues to fix. One of the issues it highlighted was the phone number area code. It told me that if I use the wrong area code in a phone number, Google will think my website is irrelevant for that location.

I do not think area code matters for seo rankings, however people would rather call a local number, then toll free or out of area number
Expired domains - De-indexed domains
While looking at expired domains to buy them, If the domain is not indexed in Google by checking using the below syntax, then should we buy it or not, considering all other parameters are in place. Please advise!!! syntax to check if domain is indexed: site:domainname

Expired Domain Question
If an expired domain name is a company name (not trademarked), and not a generic city+service domain name, then in that case can we use the company name expired domain or are there any legal issues in using it? Please advise.

A company might get pissed if you get their domain while they are still in business, even though they did not renew domain. You could sell it to them, or put something in your disclaimer stating that you are not affiliated with any former domain owners and domain was purchased as a expired domain. I like to keep my domains more generic, or as a directory. If you are impersonating a business (fake or real) you "could" run into issues.

@Sumesh Behl Also, domains go through a grace period before they are released to the general public. Emails are sent to the contact person listed for the domain before it is released.
Risk Of Government Fines In California For Lead-Gen Sites?
I noticed a huge amount of the top paying LeadSmart zip codes are in California, so I started to make some California sites. But recently I was talking to a friend who is very experienced in LeadGen and he says he completely avoids California because of a risk of government fines. He says he was involved in a scenario where the lead buyer (local business doing preventative pest control) was fined $40,000 for "false advertising". He claims there is a law that you must disclose the actual lead buyer's company details/license number etc. on the actual lead-gen site itself. Do you guys know anything about this and have you ever encountered similar issues in California? ——————————————————————— He also sent me this: ——————————————————————— No, lead generation websites are not illegal in California, but they are subject to strict laws, particularly the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and federal regulations like the TCPA. Violations can occur through deceptive practices, misleading consumers, or failing to obtain proper consent for data collection and marketing calls/texts. The laws primarily regulate how lead generation is done, focusing on transparency, consent, and data handling.

Do you know if he was running a generic website or using a made up business name that seemed like a real business?
