how I make my tracks groove - tremolo stacking
I finally got around to finishing this little tutorial on one of my newly discovered favorite techniques to adding a groovy, organic element out of plane simple chords. hopefully this inspires some of you to also play around with some tremolos 🦦

That was a nice video! Didn’t you were such a massive Soundtoys user. Sounds awesome! I have been using my share of tremolo, but I haven’t experimented with three in a row. Really like how it makes it more organic and lively and not so obvious. I will quite often have a track with a kick on all the quarter notes that isn’t send out, but only used to sidechain a group of more floating tracks to get a more rhythmic feeling, thats a bit similar to the way your first tremolo sounds, but the full thing is really inspiring.
October 17th releases
Hey wavers, who's releasing today? :) I wanted to share a little story about today's release. I wrote it on the day of the first ever guitarwavers hangout. Talking to some likeminded guitar-musicians was so refreshing and motivating to me that I had to write a new song on the same day and 'the cablethief' is the result. imo it's one of my best instrumentals so far. usually I'm not a person who's very proud of their works cause i can't stop criticising what could have been better but with this one (even though its definitely not perfect) I feel confident and proud, what a cool feeling. Definitely aiming for more of this in the future :) how are you guys feeling with your finished songs? Curious to hear some thoughts on this (probably also fit's into the creative process month topic ) https://open.spotify.com/track/1WgHMTOzCrGgVoTdn7g42U?si=b5a2df8ae9af412c

@Martin Eibisch thanks Martin. I will often generate an image with AI in MidJourney or Photoshop (I work with design as my job) and then the canvas video was done by uploading the image into Google’s AI Studio or somewhere else, where I still have free credits. I will sometimes also find a nice image on Unsplash.

@Joe Cabrera thanks you. I think I did most of it in Logic where I automated the various reverbs to increase a lot at certain points. I’ll send you some more details over later on.
who should be the next podcast guest?
guys for our monthly topic of the creative process it feels like I could interview basically everybody that makes music. but do you know someone who has a fascinating process you know of that would be really cool to have on the podcast? 🦦

Well, being a big fan of both and making similar music I’d love to hear an episode with From Somewhere Quiet and one with Adam Dodson. They’re big names (in our relatively small genre), so not sure if they are up for it, but why not.
what's "release friday"?
pretty simple: I thought, since most of us release music on fridays, under this category we can drop all new releases, and I'll add them to my guitarwave playlist (which rn is only electric guitar … maybe I should start a new one for both/all) 🦦

@Sebastian Jautschus thank you! I can tell that all my drones/pads are made with the Chase Bliss Mood MKII that loops a little part played through it’s reverbs and then it’s reversed in the pedal and through the reverb again. It’s all done very fast in the pedal. Then I record that drone for the duration of the song and fades it in and out. And usually side chained compressors to a lead guitar part so it gets out of the way of the melodies and so on. I usually record to or three of these drones, because they all sounds slightly different, and fade them in and out. As for the cello is from Labs and called Cello Moods and it’s a free plugin. They must have recorded parts of a real cello playing long notes with various small themes, so depending on what key I play in it’s always something different.

@Sebastian Jautschus yes, that’s actually one of the few pedals I use when writing and recording songs, because it can just create a really nice blanket to play over. And the Lab’s stuff is crazy! I also use the ‘Soft Piano’ all the time. Love it.
