Mysterious Latency Issue.
I was wondering if anyone has had an issue in logic, where after I've finished a track where everything has worked fine, when I come back to the project, say a week or two or month of too later, the midi is not synced to my External Synth anymore? I've tried to adjust the audio latency setting to no avail. Apple tech support didn't know what to say, other than possibly trying to reset my synth back to its factory settings to try and resolve it. I don't want to risk losing all my patches, so if anyone has any advice, I'd be very thankful! I've tried to open new projects and import all of the tracks and issue is still there. I've tried copy/pasting each track - and initially the issue is resovled, but when I import the rest of the tracks, the issue comes back again.

@Gus Dikteruk Hi Gus. Frame rate is 24, set to internal. Audio is MTC continuous. No Port destinations! thanks!

@Petter Jensen The midi notes are triggering twice. Once early and once when it should. I'm not seeing the auto compensate latency option.
New music
If you have new music you want to share to get some exposure, post it below! If you want feedback or have a specific conversation about the song, you can do a dedicated post. But if you just want to share something you've release to help get streams, post it below (and make sure you stream other peoples music too!)

@Shane Doyle thanks Shane, and yes sync is a goal I'm aiming for these days. Appreciate the feedback!
What could be the reason for this paralysis?
Weird… It’s what you love to do… and you have many ideas….. but you’re not opening your DAW and your projects are not moving forward. What could be the reason for such paralysis? There’s obviously some resistance when the mind is avoiding it. How do/did you get out of this?

Whenever I'm in a creative rut or trying to hone in something, I go for a walk or leave things alone for a bit and let it come to me. But recently altering my state of mind seems to help a lot with my creativity. I dance a lot and have been finding that working on music after a night of dancing puts me in the best work zone. I also got a great massage today and the track I was working on came in being really seemlessly today. So find that thing that get you in the zone before hand and they go back your daw.
Limiter vs Clipper
Hi folks, Just working through the production 101 course, on the Dynamics in the mix lesson. At the very end of the lesson, the tracks (drums, keys, bass and guitars) have all been tamed using a combination of limiters, clippers, and some saturation. This allowed for more headroom and then it was discussed how a further clipping/limiting could be done to the stereo out to get a few more db of headroom, all of which I understand. However I turned my head a little when a clipper was used on the stereo out to gain more headroom rather than a limiter, especially when it had been mentioned how in this genre (country), more subtle, transparent manoeuvres were suitable, whereas I was under the impression a clipper was for much more aggressive jobs/genres. I'd love to hear any insight from anyone passing by.

With limiters they reduce the dynamic range (I've been told) a bit more holistically, while clippers can add harmonics that were not there before( especially if using it too aggressively). But I've used both in taming transients and both have worked well. Like Nick said, if you are satisfied with the sound, then you got the job done.
Learning but not understanding :(
I am learning EQ and I feel I have understood the concept through dozen of videos and resources but I don't know what exactly my mixes require or rather what I need to EQ in my mix. I am unsure if I am doing the right thing here. Is there any resource to fasten my ear training? plz halph

A good tip about eq is to keep in mind not to boost the same frequencies on multiple tracks. Have each element in a song have there own space in the frequency spectrum.

Been making music a while now, just wanting to refine my recording skills. Mostly do melodic Electronica.
