I just watched this video of 10 jazz guitar players taking on Autumn leaves in 10 very different ways. It was so cool to see how they approached it and how this song that everyone knows can sound so special. https://youtu.be/41KGLQrieb0?si=7wm30VyVrAqUc7vQ

At 7 Club in Chapel Allerton (round the corner from me) last night. I love the tempo of this, upbeat & laid back at the same time :) https://youtu.be/_5in7Etingg?si=bMt11SkI9n4jLsJc
I've been playing guitar since I was 10 - pop, folk, classical, a bit of blues and last few years Jazz. I really enjoy comping and currently play in a band here in Darlington in NE England ( near Newcastle on Tyne). Steve
A repost from @Mentor Jurgen Joarder -- thank you x 1000 """ I came across this video of Bill Frisell talking about melody, and how to add notes to that melody to create interesting "thin" chord melodies. It's really interesting and I really like this way of playing. https://youtu.be/FInW-BYXAxU?si=QGiJv7BSWbdkTnTG&t=162 """
In order to introduce myself in this community, here is a little video I made this morning of a piece that I practiced a lot a few years ago. Enjoy https://youtu.be/xbglecU-XI8
Love your guitar- the Les Paul was a jazz guitar before it was adopted by rock artists. I'm also interested to see a classical fingerpick style- I'm trying to do the same thing but with more of a ragtime approach.
@Coach Marc-Andre Seguin Hi Marc, how much do you think being able to read music is a requirement for working through the program? I'm trying to do that alongside the introductory exercises but using another site- have you got any advice/resource recommendations?
Hi everyone, my name's Pete, I'm from Leeds, UK. I've been playing guitar for a long time but never anything properly- I have a mix of styles, mainly blues and fingerpicking. I want to learn to do something properly so my target is to become proficient at jazz guitar, learn to read music properly and hopefully make a few friends on the way😎
