QUESTION ON INSURANCE
I have been wanting to ask you Chris and any members who can answer this question: Does anyone have insurance when performing at any of the communities? My situation will be unique, as I will be bringing my therapy dog with me to the communities I will be applying to. I had done some research some months back and it seems to be something that many performers do. Adding a dog can be an extra liability. Appreciate your comments.

@Miriam P. Tierno I am doing 2-5 gigs a week, so $25 a month is no big deal. Few require it but I think it is a credibility plus when I respond to a corporate gig, or to retirement homes with centralized procurement ( a lot of my clients are big chains.)

@Andrew Richardson it might be your locale? I am in the DC area. Are you solo or a group?
What venue type comprises most of your gig experience?
95% of all my paid gigs are from some kind of senior living community. I know several members who indicated they play weddings and other types of places. I'm curious where most of us are coming from?

I think my top 3 for audience reaction and how good I feel singing them are Wagon Wheel (with fiddle parts on harmonica) Leader of the Band (also with the instrumental on harmonica) Take Me Home Country Roads (top audience request, play on 12-string, very John Denver-y)

@Chris Ekblom by Dan Fogelberg. He wrote it about his dad. Here is my interpretation. https://youtu.be/5vPcgw-Tysk?si=80iZuTJEEgFPoobN
What songs are you rehearsing right now that you are loving?
I'm playing Jim Croce's 'Photographs & Memories' , Johnny Cash's version of 'I've been Everywhere', and George Harrison's 'While my Guitar Gently Weeps'. I intend to try all 3 before the end of this week's show line up and will share my progress with The Performer's Circle! What songs are you working on?

I'm working Times They are a Changin' with harmonica parts. Other recent adds include Ring Of Fire, You Say it Beast When You Say Nothing at All, Cat's in the Cradle
How do you prepare your setlist at shows?
I'm curious what everyone uses when referencing a setlist during shows? I go completely from memory and don't rely on anything and I'm wondering if anyone else does this?

I used an iPad, and migrated to an android tablet. I use an app called bandhelper to organize setlists and song charts. Working at decreasing dependency on it.

@Miriam P. Tierno my iPad started acting up and I switched to a Samsung and it has been flawless. One time the iPad crashed at an hour long gig but fortunately I have a fair amount of music memorized and it was seamless.
