The Stair Stepper Humbled Me Fast
What's up, fellas. I started using the stair stepper at the gym this week and I'm not going to lie, it humbled me fast. I've been on the treadmill for a while now. I know what to expect. The stair stepper is a different story. A few minutes in and my legs are burning, my heart rate is up, and I'm already thinking about stepping off. That's how I knew I needed to stay on it. The treadmill is solid. Good for steady cardio, easy to control your pace, low impact on the joints. But it's comfortable. And comfortable doesn't always push you forward. The stair stepper is not comfortable. Every step is loaded. Your legs are driving your full bodyweight up, over and over. Your core has to stay engaged or you're leaning on the rails. The heart rate goes up faster and it stays there. For men over 40 trying to build stamina and burn more calories in less time, that matters. I'm going to commit to a few months on this thing and track what happens to my stamina and my daily step count. I want to see the difference it makes over time. If you've been using the treadmill exclusively, go ahead and try the stair stepper one morning. Start slow. Don't grab the rails. Give it 10 minutes and see where you are. It might surprise you. It definitely surprised me. Drop a comment below if you've tried it. I want to know how it went.

Going to give a try for a longer period. I usually do 5-10 minutes on the stair stepper no more than that since I’m doing 1 hour on the treadmill.
Healthy food won't save you if you're eating too much of it.
This trips up almost every man over 40 I talk to. He cleans up his diet. Almonds instead of chips, smoothies instead of soda, whole grain instead of white. Eats "healthy." And the scale doesn't budge. Here's why. Almonds, olive oil, peanut butter, granola, smoothies, avocado. All healthy. All calorie-dense. You can eat clean all day and still sit over your TDEE. Fat loss doesn't care if the calories came from a donut or a handful of cashews. Under your number, you lose. Over it, you don't. Healthy is good for your body. A deficit is what burns the fat. What's one "healthy" food you eat a lot of? Drop it below and I'll tell you if it's quietly wrecking your deficit. And the Huddle's Wednesday night, 7pm. Bring that question with you.

@Oneil Wilson nothing past 7pm. Just liquids
Almost at my 1st goal
Guys happy to announce I’m 184 lbs!!!! Officially 4 lbs away from my goal of 180lbs!!!!! Now on to put on some muscle!!!!
It’s my "day off," but I still clocked 90 minutes.
It’s my day off. No lifting, no grinding, just headspace. But I’m currently 45 minutes into a 90-minute walk and I’m not stopping until I hit the mark. I never miss this. Not because I’m a superhero, but because walking makes my day. I also learned that if I start negotiating with myself on the "easy" stuff, I’ll fold on the hard stuff too. 90 minutes of moving my legs keeps the engine running and the mind sharp for the week ahead. Don't let the "day off" turn into a "zero day." What’s one small win you’re bagging today? Drop it below.

Today is also my day off and I’m thinking of going for a nice walk also.
Eating in a deficit is not that hard.
What's up fellas. If staying in a deficit feels like a grind, you're probably overcomplicating it. Here's what works: Eat foods that fill you up. High protein. High volume. Low calories. Drink more water. Drop the liquid calories. Keep one thing you actually enjoy so you don't feel like you're punishing yourself. That's the whole play. No special diet. No meal plan. No suffering. Eat less than you burn. Make it something you can stick with. What's one change you made that made your deficit easier to maintain? Drop it below. I want to hear it.
