Your Next Bass Guitar? Catching up with Anaconda Basses
At the start of this month I got to catch up with @Andrew Taylor-Cummings, maker of Anaconda Basses. Many of you will be aware of his instruments and they are currently played by the likes of Matt Ramsey, Jahmal Nichols and many more! @Andrew Taylor-Cummings is actually in this group, though he's busy sorting basses but if you ever wanted to head down to the workshop, discuss trying out the instruments or a custom build, drop him a message on here and get in contact with him through the website. https://www.anacondabasses.co.uk/Players It is always great to be able to connect brands to the people behind them and Andrew knows and understands the church & gospel community so if Anaconda wasn't on your list of considerations for your next bass, take a look!

i am a lucky owner of one of the first Jahmal Nichols basses. Did my own alterations (removed everything golden), and its been my main go to bass for pretty much anything. Andrew is the man. My next bass? Probably none, got everything I need covered...and wife is ok with 5 as well.

@Andrew Taylor-Cummings never stopped enjoying it, just had to take the bling off, figured out it's not my style 😂. I don't disagree with you on the number of bases, there are higher forces at my home which might though.

The Holy Slap... ✋️
A quick one fam, how do you practice the slap technique on bass? Learning it could be difficult but if there are any exercises that can help us improve our technique that would be awesome... Thanks 😊

@Jester Quezon I have been at this a lot this year. I am not sure where you are at at the moment in your journey, but i would start from finding youtube videos focusing on precision of your slaps and pops. You can do these automatically while watching Netflix or so, that's what I ve been doing. Once you feel comfortable with your precision, try to cover some simple songs and slowly grow until you find that you can create your simple slap basslines to songs you listen. This has been my experience, I started from some octaves exercises, like Fitz Jones suggested, then tried some gospel/ funk licks (Travis Dykes has a very nice video with 10 slap lines progressively getting harder), then covered couple Red Hot Chilli Peppers and then tried some gospel parts. I have started very recently my, so far rather clumsy ,attempts of creating my own lines. Here's the example: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AjdBjrOMdskUhAAyoJJt84XDasV-?e=JY7hAP As bad as it sounds, I would not be able to do anything like this in January, so staying in the shed is well worth it :).
