Need your insight....
Hi everyone, I’m looking for guidance from those with nonprofit and compliance experience. I currently lead a women-focused community centered on education, professional development, leadership growth, and intentional networking. Through workshops, peer learning, and resource sharing, the goal is to support women in building sustainable careers, businesses, and confidence. I also operate a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission aligns directly with this work. I’d like to explore whether it’s possible to structure the community’s Skool membership as a donation-based model, where participation supports women’s empowerment and educational programming, funds flow directly to the nonprofit, and donors receive a charitable contribution receipt for their membership fee. My questions are: - Is this allowable when the community provides educational value and access? - What compliance considerations should I be aware of (quid pro quo rules, fair market value disclosures, etc.)? - Are there best practices for structuring this (donation tiers, language, fiscal handling)? I’m not seeking legal advice, just insight, experiences, or resources from those who’ve navigated something similar. Thank you in advance for any guidance.
