If I had to start over, I would do THIS
If I had to start over from scratch in 2026 with zero momentum, zero audience, and just one children’s book… this is the exact marketing plan I would follow. I hope this helps you with your marketing!

This was a great video and I like how you explained nurturing platforms vs growth platforms. I tried TikTok 2ce. After listening to you, I may try it again since I'm gaining followers on Instagram but barely any sales.
Why No One Is Buying Your Children’s Book on Amazon (And How to FIX It)
If your children’s book isn’t selling on Amazon KDP, the problem usually isn’t your story or illustrations... In this video, I explain the real reason no one is buying your children’s book and show you how to fix it 🙌 I hope you find this video useful!

@Rico de Rouen Thanks for your honesty, too, Rico! Next month, March, my book will be out 1 year! I'm so grateful I did it. But making sales is really slow going. From you and Harleigh, this sounds normal and I/we have to hang in there.

Your videos are so helpful, Harleigh, and I see I'm in good company with my book turning 1 in March with slow sales. Thanks for sharing that it took you a few years to see real sales. It's very encouraging.
Busy???
Been busy? Anyone else?! 😅 I just launched my second children’s book on Kindle and I’m so excited! 🎉📚 Quick question for my author friends — Are Goodreads and Amazon reviews linked, or do I need to set up something separate? I’m trying to learn how to get my reviews showing up over on Goodreads too. Any advice is welcome! 💛

Same here. I have Amazon and Goodreads reviews but the Goodreads total doesn't show up on my Amazon page. I see other Amazon accounts that show the Goodreads total. I think I linked the accounts together. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
Feeling Overwhelmed
Good Morning All! Hi I am Martina. My new children's book Max's Marvelous Mind is set to go live on October 1. Is anyone else overwhelmed by the whole process of marketing and getting everything setup from websites, to corresponding email and links for the printables? This process is taking longer than writing my book. I would love any suggestions as to what to specifically focus on first in this journey. The juggling of trying to get the word out about my book launch and getting "the system" in place for the lead magnets, social media and creating the printables is keeping me running 24/7. Thank you for this great community of like-minded folks!

Hi, Tina! I feel exactly the same way as you. The marketing aspect is endless. The writing was certainly easier, but i'm getting used to the marketing and some of it is fun. For my reader magnet I made activity sheets including coloring pages, word search, word scramble, mazes, a little game board and roll the dice and cover the number. I'm trying to build my email list, but it's slow going. My reader magnet is on StoryOrigin and I use Mailerlite for my newsletters. Both platforms are excellent. I wish you all the best with your book!

Hi everyone! I'm Paula Podhorzer and happy to be here! I self-published my first children's picture book in February and busy marketing it, which is a lot harder than writing it. I'm about to send my next finished manuscript to the editor to get the sequel going.

Hi! I write children's picture books about twins' travel adventures, based on places I've been, using my photos as the backgrounds of my stories.
