What was THE moment you decided on DevOps? ♾️
We all got exposure to DevOps at some point. Some as software engineers, some as sysadmins, and some from completely non-technical backgrounds. I share the story of how I went from nurse to DevOps in the DevOps Blueprint in the Classroom, Image #2 has something to do with it. Do you know what it is? But I want to hear your story. At what point did you decide that DevOps is the thing you want to pursue?

I've been running a home lab for a few years now and it has slowly matured from running applications on bare metal to docker containers. I became aware of DevOps as a term when I started to watch more YouTube videos on containers and soon realised that I might be able to turn my hobby into a career.
Let's compare homelabs!
I'd would love to see what kind of homelabs have been built by this community, whether bare-metal or virtualized! What is your hardware stack? What is your software stack? Got any pictures? What about Git repos?

Some nice setups here. This is my current homelab setup Applications / Self Hosted Services - NextCloud - Paperless - Arr Suite - Karakeep - Jellyfin - Portainer - Homarr Dashboar - Atuin (running on Hetzner) - PiHole Hardware - Dell Wyze running Proxmox. This is currently only running my PiHole DNS. I plan to use this to run some Kubernetes nodes in the future. - Dell Wyze with NixOS running my docker containers. Most of the applications listed above are running on this box as docker containers - TerraMaster NAS running TrueNAS CE and ZFS array - Synology NAS as backup - My network gear is all Unifi with VLANS to separate IOT/untrusted devices from my main trusted devices.

@John Dough I can recommend Atuin for managing your shell history and Karakeep. I use these all the time
Strategies to deal with burnout?
Im a final year uni student, and am currently having to balance a lot of different work. Does anyone have a good strategies they can share? I have to do coursework and my diss, but don't want to give up working on my projects. Current tasks: - Find and understand paper for my diss literature review - Finish coursework about using GCP - Start algorithms coursework - Working on homelab - Teaching beginners python once a week - Apply for grad jobs - Go to lectures, make and understand notes - Complete Github foundations cert (free as a student so may as well) - Making more connections on Linkedin - Try and keep running / seeing friends 😭 It should get less busy in 2-4 weeks once coursework is in and grad jobs applications stop but its quite busy now ahahahaha.

@Alex Eirich I agree with taking breaks and having fun. I spend a lot of time working with my homelab and trying to broaden my knowledge but I find that doing something that is the complete polar opposite for a couple of hours each week helps. For me this is doing something more creative, that could be doing some art or playing/listening to music. I can immerse myself in these things and forget about everything else.
🚀 Most Members Are Still Level 1. Let’s Change That.
This community is still available - for now. We’re adding new resources soon and there's a Q&A sessions tomorrow. But access will stay only for members who show up and contribute. Right now, 75% of members are still “Level 1 – Scallywag.” That tells me most of you are watching, not building. A thriving community isn’t built on silent spectators. It’s built by people who share wins, ask questions, and help others grow. If you’ve learned even one thing here, imagine what happens when you go all in. We built this to help you win, but it starts with participation. So here’s the deal: ✅ Be active, help others, and keep full access. ❌ Stay inactive, and you'll not have access We're building building something great with you, not just only for you. Thank you to everyone already contributing — you’re the reason this works. 🎥 PS: I’ll be live tomorrow at 6 PM to answer your questions and help you move forward. Tomorrow @ 6pm - 7pm Amsterdam time (CEST, UTC+2) equals: - London: 5–6 PM - New York (ET): 12–1 PM - Chicago (CT): 11 AM–12 PM - Denver (MT): 10–11 AM - Los Angeles (PT): 9–10 AM 🔥 Drop a comment below if you’re joining the live Q&A. 👈 Tell us what you’re working on or where you’re stuck so we can help you move forward together. This is your chance to stop lurking and start building proof of your growth. Let’s build this together. — Mischa

I won't be able to attend as I'll be just leaving work when you finish. Hope you have a good session though 👍
Problem solving using Python
Beside learning devops, I had a target to solve at least one or two problems for each type of algorithm and data structure in leetcode to boost my confidence in coding. I am also documenting the thinking approaches of those solutions. So, in future, I can have quick revision while needed. What do you think guys? Am I in the right path?

Hi, I've never come across Leetcode before but looks like a great resource for coding interview prep around data structures and algorithms. 👍

Looking to expanding my skills in tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform and CI/CD pipelines to help me land a role within DevOps.
