Welcome (start here)
Over the coming the coming weeks i'll be adding free resources as we build out this community. To kick off your journey here, i'd love to know: 1. Where are you from? 2. What's your big goal this season? 3. Drop a pic of your bike....

Hey Anthony and crew. 1. Based in Kendal, UK 2. Some epic alpine days, I reignited a passion for long days and big climbs in 2025. I just like being fit enough to ride all day. Strength training is my time crunched hack these days. Kettlebells and Barbells, Zone 2/3 rides and then some Vo2 intervals when I am feeling good or need to build. 3. This is me in Mijas just before christmas. 3kg over weight, but squatting 120kg for reps. I enjoy being strong, it makes life easier.
Incorporating strength training
I’m struggling to fit strength training into my routine and I’m wondering if I could get some insight from the community. For background, I’m a 40 year old working dad, so my schedule is busy. I’ve been back to training for the last 4 months after several years away from cycling. I’m mostly training for longevity and fun, but my competitive nature has me wanting to do some fondos/races here and there, and maybe snag a neighborhood KOM or two. Right now I’m able to fit in 4-5 sessions on the bike/trainer a week - which typically ends up being 7-8 hours. I’ve mostly been doing Z2 up until the last month, and lately I’ve been adding in 1-2 threshold/sweet spot sessions per week. I’m hesitant to lift on rest days, trying to keep them truly restful. So, should I lift on low intensity days, or on the high intensity days? Ideally I’d like to lift 2-3 times per week, with no/few breaks during the year. Thanks!

@Neal Bayless Love this. Kettlebells are great, but need a bit of skill to get the most of them. The heavy ones get expensive
