The Worth and Work of Life... Book feedback/thoughts/input
Hi Everyone, I met Reko at a retreat and he suggested it might be valuable to connect with a few of you in this writing club. Thank you Reko for the suggestion and the opportunity. I have just completed a draft of my second book called The Worth and Work of Life. I am passing it around to a few friends and trusted colleagues before I work with my editor and do some deep editing. Since I don't know any of you there is no pressure to look at it. However if you are wired this way, and would like to contribute, I would love to have some feedback. I want to help the reader see afresh the Worth of Life and to rediscover the common Work of Life. When understood, accepted, and partnered with, this leads to maturity, wholeness, and a beauty as your unique DNA will be realized and released. This will also help you, and us as a society, rise above the poor worldviews and the incomplete and false narratives we have floating around us. For feedback here are a couple of question I have been pondering. I do not want to be ideological offensive and yet I have attempted to tackle some of the hard things our society is wrestling with. So questions: Is there some topics, stories, or specific language, I need to reclarify, remove, or rewrite? Does it read well and flow well or do i need to ....... (thoughts)? Any others comments you think might be valuable for me? Thank you everyone. Again no pressure. Just putting this out there. And finally thank you again Reko. Hope to see you in person here soon.

Hi Reko that sounds great. Here is some inspiration, learnings and encouragements. Encouragement: It is easy to self publish your book now. My first book, Deploy; Simple ways to move your life forward, was self published on Amazon. The cost works out to about $5 a book, what you sell it for becomes your profit. https://www.amazon.com/Deploy-Simple-Ways-Move-Forward/dp/B09MGHCLG3 What I am learning: Marketing: I need to better market my book. I currently sell my book directly to my clients. I travel on the road and work with 30-40 organizations throughout the year. For my next book I am going to submit it to a few agents to see if they would pick it up. I am also going to get on several pod casts and promote my message. This is a new focus for me and I am looking forward to what doors it will open. Now to apply this, who or where do you want to promote or sell your book? Who needs to hear or experience your content/story? Technology. Technology is making things easier to write and publish however use it wisely. I am currently using chatgpt to help me edit and correct my spelling and grammar for this next book. This has helped speed up the process and hopefully has improve the quality of my draft. However, I have purposefully chosen to not to use chatgpt to write my material. I want the process to produce the needed result in me. By struggling, labouring, and polishing and honing my material and message I have also been learning and growing as person. For you this is also part of the process that comes with writing your book. This process cannot be short changed. So if you are struggling to write or put your material together just accept this is part of the process of writing. You also are growing, building your skills, and honing and developing your content. My breakthrough: My biggest breakthrough came when i got the right person to help me. This is what helped me get my first project across the finish line. I went through 2 different editors before I found someone who met the need I had. I also needlessly wasted some money and energy at this stage. The frustration caused me to lose some momentum and it put my project at risk for a season. So the wisdom, know what you need and find the right person to help you. For myself I did not need someone to correct my spelling. I needed someone to hone my material and the content with me. The person I hired also helped me by doing some of the back end work and loaded the book onto the Amazon platform. She was life saver for me. For costs, she was $30 an hour which was well worth it for me. I am sure you can find someone much cheaper on Fiverr though.
