How are you managing the connection of your USB and TB gear?
With everything now being TB or USB how are you all managing the connection for all of this equipment? I want to clean up and streamline my connections but not sure how I will go about it just yet. I have USB for 4 keyboards/sound module, for 8 hard drives, flash drives,, MPC, webcam, charging for my phone, ect. I have Thunderbolt for my UA Apollo, DAC, UA satellite, ect. Point is that I have so many connections that I have to wonder how are other people managing.

Here are a couple pictures of my 10 hard drives. Also my Apollo, Lynx Hilo, USD satellite, and my old Motu 828 (for extra inputs from my MPC X) all use Thunderbolt. I have other equipment that also use USB. I have a rack at the bottom of my desk and it sits so far back into the desk that it’s hard to get to, I was thinking about removing them and instead place a rack shelf there where I can sit my hard drives just to get them out of the way and less cluttered. @Janice McWilliams

@Brian M Have you tried using an adapter? I had an old Motu 828 MK3 (FireWire) that I was able to get a FireWire to Thunderbolt adapter off of Amazon and it works great.

I'm curious. What are y'all's favorite mastering plugins, and why?

Kirchhoff EQ - dynamic transparent EQ but can also add tone and color. Pultec eq - gives a nice expensive sheen to the sound. UAD maximizer - does its job nicely and has good saturation if needed. UAD limiter - very transparent and sounds professional. BX Clipper - simply does the job well. Ozone maximizer and limiter - does as great of a job as UAD but with a slightly different flavor.
Did they use parallel processing in the 80’s
The 80’s hip hop drums were big and thick and I was wondering how did they get the drums sounding so good. Did they use parallel processing back then? If not the how was it accomplished?

@Monroe Neese Ok cool, I didn’t realize they used parallel processing back in the 80’s.
