Hey everyone - got a new mix I'm wrapping up! Would love some feedback. My ears are tired.... This is an original track in collaboration with a friend of mine who loves heavy metal & post rock. I did all the vocals & lyrics, while he did instruments & now we're gearing up to make a music video soon. UPDATE: after meeting with Berlin, we made more room for the vocals by carving out the guitars a bit with TrackSpacer, de-masked the kick & bass, added in the cymbals a bit more, did some de-essing, got the vocals sitting better in the mix & brightened the entire mix a bit overall. Last night, my band had a rehearsal and I wanted to record it with just 1 mic in the room. I set up the project correctly, placed the mic in a good spot, checked the level. Everything looked good. I hit the record button and we started going down the playlist. Then after the rehearsal I took a good ear break and then listened back and all I got was the batter head of the kick drum. Lol 🤣 Turns out that I had forgotten to repatch the room mic cable to the interface. Have any of you ever done this? I have decided to make myself a checklist and go through it step by step every time I record anything to prevent this problem from happening again in the future. What are your thoughts? Got into the FTM late today...but definitely going to watch the replay...been a few months since I have been able to attend any events...happy to be back and looking forward to the fellowship of the group and gleaning any knowledge I can from Jake and the gang!! 🤘🏻
