New Auto Trader asks for advice
Hi. I'm a new Auto Algo member. I'd like to chat with some experienced traders so that I can get a feel for a) the average time it takes to get qualified with a prop firm, b) a safe/rewarding risk level and c) the average expected return per month. It was suggested that I use the 2 phase FTMO $100k challenge and to trade all three algos. I'm currently on my 2nd day of a 14 day FTMO trial period. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. @John Richards - I can assist sir...if your trading all 3 algo's then your looking at 8-12 weeks, might be sooner

@Martin Graff hi Martin, I've got 3 funded props running over $120k at the moment. All were passed within 8 or 10 weeks. It is quite fast but it feels so slow as your watching it daily for best part of two months. Best advice is to setup automation and let it run. Don't over leverage your accounts as they will go pop. Whilst they are running, start playing with thw algos and get used to them, run some small manual trades etc Oh and

Ive been using this USD/JPY for a while and I dont personally think its worth it....here is the performance from past 3 months based on fixed lot size(which wont alter PnL %): USDJPY – Entire Backtest Period (1 Lot Fixed, $50k) 10 Nov 2025 to 16 Feb 2026 = 98 days 49 trades equate to +1.95% which is $975 There's a catch with this one. The pullbacks are very aggressive and prop firms will not trigger your stop loss on smaller timeframes (trust me, 2 accounts blown with solid SL/TP defined) but they will very kindly trigger a max daily DD and close your account!!! Hope this helps

@Marian Gal I forgot one piece of important info Marian For the performance metrics I provided, im using EURUSD algo, which TP is set @ 0.09% with only 1 TP level so if your using a custom algo with multiple TPs then results will vary

Seen nothing like it before. 21 Feb update loading.. have a strong gut feel we'll see a turn around in the coming week. XAUUSD sludging it still..

@Mr. Sivaa Hi Mr Sivaa, is EUR/USD worth it? it looks good on paper with high win rate but it has a static TP at 0.09% and dynamic SL at 0.35%? The other pairs general generate much more PnL over EUR/USD per month

@Ivan Zatolyuk Thanks for info. Im unsure whether "material" will help as traders here are all learning at different paces and the industry has alot of catches, especailly when prop firm trading. You should also want the feedback to grow your tool as the main algo (EUR/USD) is currently performing as so: 04-SEP to 16-FEB = 68 trades with 3.74% profit which equates to an average of 0.69% per month which is poor really and only makes this a hobby!!! I have plenty of knowledge and experience that i would like to share and grow this community?! For instance, EUR/USD has set parameters of 0.09% profit (static) and 0.35% stop loss (dynamic) but your not utilising any trailing stops so profit is only really made during dynamic stop losses not profitable trades
