Thanks for the invitation and for having me here! As a trained cognitive scientist and as an enthusiast of computational functionalism, I am interested in all facets of thinking. In our time, the distinctions between the cognitive phenomena of artificial and biological systems are becoming increasingly blurred. In fact, even besides AI, I think that we can find a huge variety of such phenomena, implemented via different causal patterns in the physical world. Ultimately, I view AI as a unique chance for human self-discovery. It's an epistemological instrument that allows us to learn more about ourselves by shedding light on how similar cognitive traits can arise from fundamentally different substrates and architectures. How does that fit in a business context, one may ask. Well, how could it not? In recent years (indeed, even in the last month) the business world has become incredibly complex. Suddenly, there are systems that function similarly to humans and even surpass us in certain areas. In this context, I am particularly interested in identifying the effects this feedback loop has on us and how we can form mental representations that are compatible with AI and thus build efficient human-agent teams in this ever-changing (work) environment. Cheers Paul
