Insert Schema to Shopify
Hey guys I'm taking my first shot at adding custom schema to a Shopify site, but have no idea where to put it. Youtube hasn't been friendly... Does anyone here have a short tutorial that can help me out? I'm all ears. Thanks
Most content is optimized on 3 layers. We use 15. Here's what that means.
Most marketing tools — even the "AI-powered" ones — optimize your content on 3, maybe 4 dimensions. Keywords. Readability. Maybe some meta tags. Then they call it "optimized." That's like tuning the radio in a car with no engine. Inside the You-Everywhere system, every single piece of content passes through 15 distinct optimization layers before it goes live. Not sequentially. Not "pick 3." All 15. Simultaneously. Here's what they are — and what each one actually does for you: 🔍 THE DISCOVERY LAYERS — Getting Found Layer 1: SEO Optimization The foundation. Keywords, structure, meta architecture. If you're not here, nothing else matters. But if you STOP here... you're playing yesterday's game. Layer 2: Local Optimization Geographic signals that tell search engines WHERE you operate. Not just city names in your footer — real geo-authority woven into the content itself. Layer 3: Knowledge Graph Optimization This is how Google — and every AI system — knows you're a REAL entity and not just another website. Your business, your people, your services mapped as entities with defined relationships, attributes, and identity signals. When a Knowledge Graph recognizes you, you stop being "a page about plumbing" and become "the plumbing authority in Austin." That distinction changes everything downstream. Layer 4: Semantic Optimization Topic depth AND machine-readability. This layer does two things: it builds the semantic density that proves you actually understand your subject (co-occurring concepts, topic completeness, entity relationships) — AND it structures your content so AI systems can parse it without guessing. Schema markup, structured data, entity disambiguation. If a machine can't tell whether "Mercury" means the planet, the car, or the element... your content gets skipped. This is the backbone that makes Layers 6 and 8 even possible. Layer 5: AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) Siri. Alexa. Google Assistant. AI search. Your content is either formatted to be EXTRACTED as a direct answer... or it's invisible to the fastest-growing search channel on the planet.

Yes, I'd love a workshop structured around this. Most it all sounds familiar at this point, but to see a linear progression and be able to follow it would be huge!
Black Friday Emergency
Hey All, I have a schema related question. A client of mine added schema to all of their product pages, I believe using a templating process in Shopify. That was on the 18th. Since then we can see a steady increase in the number of pages that Google can't seem to crawl and aren't being displayed in Merchant Center. Has anyone run across this problem before. I tried to look at the schema for some of these pages on validator.schema.org and that won't even pull the pages us. It gives me an error that the URL is not found. When I go to the site I can see all of these pages. Any idea? I've never run into this on an eCommerce site before and with this being a major sales time I'm hoping for some quick answer and ideas. Thanks for your insights!

Thank you guys! We're working through these issues now. I'll update soon.
What’s Going On in Search
Here’s what’s changing in Google Search right now, why it matters, and how to adjust. 1. The &num=100 Parameter Is Breaking Google seems to be killing off support for &num=100 in search URLs. It used to let you see 100 results per page. Now? It’s inconsistent. Sometimes it works. Often it doesn’t. Why care? Because rank trackers and scrapers use that trick to pull full search result sets. If that stops working, tools will need more requests just to get the same data. It could slow everything down or throw off impression counts. Search Console is part of this too. When &num=100 was working, lower-ranked URLs were still getting “impressions” even if no one saw them. That inflated some reports. If those phantom impressions go away, impression counts may drop. The “Impression Boom” Might Be Fake If you’ve seen GSC impressions go up over the past year while clicks didn’t follow, you’re not alone. Some blamed AI Overviews. But it turns out those jumps may have just been tools and bots hitting the &num=100 parameter. This changes how we interpret things. What looked like “Google killing traffic” might just be noise falling away. The takeaway: impressions may drop. That’s not necessarily bad. Google is aiming to “simplify” search result pages. That likely means fewer distractions, less clutter, and more visual consistency. Cleaner pages. Maybe fewer formats jammed together. No clear timeline or examples yet, but when they say “simplify,” they usually mean something noticeable. Worth watching. Very timely information, @Mike Clay as always! Thanks for the rundown.
Schema @id question
Can anyone tell me which way is correct as I build out a Schema Brain? I'm trying to make sure I set up my @id correctly going forward. Should it be rookdigital.com/#svc-local-seo or should I do rookdigital.com/local-seo/#svc-local-seo?
