Naughty tactics or clever strategy - What do you think.
I filmed this great game which is worth watching in full……but there was some controversy at the end. It starts at 59:00 I didn’t realise one vital aspect and it’s made me ponder if this was a tactical delay with ignorance of the rules and confusion or a master stroke in delay and coche placement post clarification. Drop your thoughts below and if you have a spare hour to watch the game what you thought of the decisions made. It was fascinating to see the Thai and Madagascar teams in action and some of the good and bad tactical choices made by other teams. https://youtu.be/GWeWwuNBlpE?is=0NyIEka5JjRrrEIW

The Madagascans can consider themselves hard done to here, lots to learn from the the way they behave and go about the game , they weren't intimidated by the poor sportsmanship
We win or we learn - What was your report this weekend?
I played 2 comps today on the back of losing 13/12 twice yesterday in a triples. The first was singles which I really enjoy! First game was against a French junior champion. I was in control, pointing well and shooting well. I was 9/2 up and confident. Then a couple of huge misses at key points where if I hit I would score 3 but miss and lose 1. Then a bad end where I got 2 atrocious kicks from hidden stones and I found myself 10/9 down. I attacked and shot and carreau twice but miss the 3rd. Same thing in the next end and eventually lost 13/12 😡 Second game was a carbon copy of the first except it was a local champion who only missed 1 shot the entire game. We went toe to toe until 10/10 when I shot and carreau twice but missed the 3rd! He eventually beats me 13/12 🤬 Into doubles in the afternoon with a great local player who shoots from a squat position. Tough draw again and we lose 13/12🤬🤬🤬🤬I play 90% and he plays 80% but the opposition play better. Next game exactly the same happens against a strong Catalan team and despite playing 95% we lose 13/12! I can’t believe I lost every game to the same score. What are the lessons after this There are no guarantees in life, I can play perfect boule and still lose. The boule gods didn’t shine on me and after a 3 hour game and 15 dead ends the choice of jack placement was VIP. I hit drawn into a game I was uncomfortable with, I listened to the crowd that was partisan and should have played my own game. What lessons did you have from this weekend?

Interesting stuff, smile and have fun have been a big part of my August play , when its important of course I'll go into game mode , I now find myself enjoying the fun games more to the point that at the end of the session I don't have a clue how many games I've won/lost 😀, not normal for me lol

Hi everyone, I'm new to the group and excited to be here. I live in the Netherlands, have a deep appreciation for France and its culture, and of course a great passion for the wonderful game of pétanque. I've been playing pétanque for the past 3½ years and am always looking for ways to improve my game. I joined this community to learn from experienced players, discover new ideas, tactics, and strategies, and gain momentum in my development as a player. I'm also looking forward to making new friends who share the same passion for pétanque. It's always great to connect with people who enjoy the sport and are eager to help each other improve. Feel free to call me Rajan. I look forward to learning from all of you, sharing experiences, and being part of this great community. If you'd like to know anything about me, ask me anything! 🎯🇳🇱❤️🇫🇷

Welcome Jegarajan 🙂
Whats the difference?
Is there any difference in how different brand boules react or do they all travel/spin/bounce/stop the same?

How to turn stress into something positive?
I have heard many times that the best players can use stress to their advantage. I am not able to do that, and I would love to understand and make progress on this matter.
