Favourite Bass Players (or other instrumentalists)
I know this group is mostly drumners, but on the topic of the course that was posted last week, I wanted to know if any of you have a favourite bass player (or other instrumentalist for that matter)? Thought it was an interesting question as I noticed I have a few favourite drummers, guitarists and keys players as well as bassists. I'll start with 5 from my list of many that are influential for me: 1. Pino Palladino 2. Chuck Rainey 3. James Jamerson 4. Stuart Zender 5. Bobby Vega

Leland Sklar - a session bassist who played on many recordings of rock, pop, folk & film scores. Toured with Phil Collins in the 80's / 90's a well as others. Has a beard longer than Gandalf's. 😂
How many of you play in a band?
Hey gang, next week I am releasing the first two videos of a brand new course on the relationship between drummers and bass players in a band. It got me thinking who here is in a band? If you are please share so that we can all see and hear your bands. 🙂🥁

When I was a child ( late 1960's) - the warmest room in the house was the kitchen. The radio was always on and I liked to sit next to the radiator (where my dad's barrel of home brew bubbled away! ) I was always tapping and moving about to the music. One day I picked up my mother's knitting needles and started playing the 'kitchen stools', and pan lids, along to the music! I think the home brew also had a lifelong impact!😂

Bought a drum kit when I was 16. Played on and off for over 45 years ( more off than on🤪).Self taught, never had any lessons. It’s never too late……..
