I am in a somewhat complicated situation at the moment. A bit more than a week ago, I faxed my Form SS-4 to the IRS. I hadn't received a fax back for the EIN within the 4-5 days they estimate, so then I called them by phone and they said it had gone through and they told it to me. Another thing they told me was that I hadn't put the applicant's fax number for them to fax it back (this is what the problem is) Yesterday I attempted to get Mercury banking (since I'm an international and non-resident), however, I needed the "returned Form SS-4" document, which as mentioned I didn't receive. Now I don't know what to do. Should I resend the Form SS-4 by fax to the IRS? I was wondering whether that might cause further hassle if they somehow assign me another EIN or something goes wrong. Is there anything you could recommend for me to do? Thank you
