✅ Binder Cloud Update — Version 5.0.13
We’ve shipped a new Binder update focused on custom screens, clarity, and restore control. Here’s what’s new: We just released a Hotfix for version 5.0.12 - we noticed slow navigation and issues with template restoration. What’s new in this release: - Custom screens now display cleanly without being covered by the default startup carousel - Added a one-click Restore option to re-enable the original reMarkable startup carousel - Improved screen upload handling for more reliable results - Enhanced restore feedback with clearer progress indicators - General stability improvements and performance optimizations - noticed an issue where update window was opening at the wrong times If you’re already using Binder, we recommend updating to get the latest improvements. As always, thanks for the feedback — it directly drives updates like this. To download: Windows: https://www.einkpads.io/api/binder/win32/releases/latest MacOS: https://www.einkpads.io/api/binder/darwin/releases/latest

I have a couple of asks: 1. when i click manual download, can you offer me a place to put the file, the auto download puts the file somewhere on my pc - havent found it yet, even though your UI says its on the desktop. how about a place in the settings for me to tell it where to download future updates? also clicking manual does nothing but come back to the 'do you want to upgrade' question now.. 2. THIS IS A BIG ONE - am I seeing it correctly that you are using my SSH ROOT PASSWORD as a FOLDER NAME in the backup process... if so, seriously, WTF?

That is not excuse to put a password in clear text and persist on a hard drive.. Frankly, that is pretty insulting. Why not force me to give that connection a name in the settings area? Maybe you could default it as myremarkable1, etc and I can override that value, and when I have a second one, I can name it something else
Two Feature Requests for CalSync
some unsolicited ideas: 1. separate the generation of the cal from being connected to the device? or are you reading data from the old planner on the device before making the new one? 2. [added on another support thread-posting here] - optional flag on the planner creation to add a page after the day page for each meeting on the calendar if it has a Description and other data - this page could have this info at the top, like a meeting note template, so notes can be taken for that meeting - link to this page from touching the cal entry on the day page - link back to the day page from this detail page.

so i am curious how you preserve my notes on a calendar day if i change the config of the calendar (turn on summary pages before the next sync)
getting wifi connection to work for calsync
so I followed instructions somewhere else and ssh'd to the device over usb, then ran: rm-ssh-over-wlan on is this step in the calsync setup and i missed it? or is the setup in cal sync supposed to do this for me on first connection? trying wifi connection now.. noting not stable -interesting - but i think it synced the cal

i just got prompted you released another release... these zip files are huge to expand onto the desktop -- is there no way to just push the deltas?

@Jason Smith Thanks, in the meantime, can you point me to the files I need to preserve on upgrade. its really fast to expand the zip file to a folder BUT copying the main folder over the existing folder causes windows to evaluate every file for a long time, then prompt to ask to replace the files or not, answer YES (of course) and then wait again for it to overwrite the files.. If I could expand the zip to its own folder, copy the data files from the old version where you keep my config info and such into the new folder then swap folder names, life would be good - save about 30 min to an hour for the compare and overwrite process.. is that possible to list the files to save? or, if I run a compare myself to find them for the next upgrade, any issues?

correct - the UI says it goes to desktop in windows - it does not. the UI gives you a link to open a website to get the file, it opens a web page in a controlled popup by the app, there are not links. clicking the version number just expands the div tag below and shows the descr of the latest version. also, on my account page, it would be nice to list the latest version for download and a link the the previous versions. maybe it does, but its not labeled.. trying to get the latest fix to the last update.. seems your team updated the software again...

feature request - could you take all the details from the calendar event and make it an optional linkable page after the day page the cal event is on? this separate page would be nice to create notes regarding that meeting event - many of my meetings actually have agenda bullets
Non-technical newbie
HELP! So I bought calsync app. Do I need to now buy a cal sync planner? How do I get this to work. I think I'm connected. The guides are pretty useless.

I just bought the calsync app in a bundle with a different tool - no sync planner. on connection there seems to be a basic planner as part of sync
