“What’s Your Next Step as the Hero?”
After walking through the Hero’s Journey this week, this is a simple reminder — your power lives in the next small step you choose. Not big. Not perfect. Just honest. Watch the short video… and if you feel called, share one small next step you’re taking this week as your Inner Warrior. 👊 We walk this journey together.

My Saratoga stops being a piece of furniture and becomes fit for purpose. It's a love/hate relationship.
Day 7 of the Hero's Journey – The Return with the Elixir
The hero returns changed. Not fixed. Not finished. But wiser. Grounded. Capable of standing in life and helping others do the same. The gift you bring back? Perspective. Presence. Proof that life can still be created from possibility, not circumstance. Reflection: What have you gained through this journey, even if you’d never choose it again?

@Wayne Forrest that is the most amazing question. I need time to put my thoughts into words.

Sorry for the late answer, flu hit me. Anyway, it's funny that after 40 years post accident I hadn't really reflected on my journey. It has been a journey of acceptance, resistance, learning, helping, healing, resilience and adventure. I lived in my world of not setting goals and meandering through life taking opportunity only if it was easy and to my liking. Most wheelies don't start by wanting to be part of the disabled community once they leave the Spinal Unit/hospital trying to live in the space that was their normal. It was when I decided to push myself into areas that were slightly uncomfortable where I would have to work at it that my life changed for the better. I started talking and listening to people and their experiences and adapted them to my life. As time went by I gained confidence and started passing on my experiences. Life is good and full again. Different but satisfying. It's amazing when you open yourself up to things you thought would be in the too hard basket that you find people and opportunity that can change your direction and passions. 😄
Day 2 of the Hero's Journey – The Call to Adventure
The call didn’t arrive gently. It came as an accident. A diagnosis. A moment you never saw coming. This was life calling you into a journey you didn’t choose, but one that would shape who you become. Reflection: Do you remember the moment you realised life would never be the same?

Mine was when I was lifted from the swimming pool and a crowd had gathered around, a young boy asked his mum "Has that man broken his neck?". I knew at that moment that my life had changed.
Sunday Check-In
As the week slows down, take a moment. What’s one thing you want to give more attention to next week? And one thing you’re ready to give less? No need to answer here, if you don't wish too. Just noticing is enough. Monday will take care of itself.

Last week was a huge sports week which was the forefront of my energy but this week it's about my wife and her birthday.
A Small Follow-Up Thought
After sharing how I start my mornings, one thing stayed with me — gratitude. Not the fluffy kind. The real kind. Gratitude for what goes well…and sometimes, strangely, for what doesn’t. There’s an old saying I’ve come back to many times: “Good thing, bad thing — who knows.” Some of the moments that felt hardest at the time ended up shaping me the most. Some of the things I resisted taught me exactly what I needed to learn. Gratitude isn’t about liking everything that happens. It's about staying open enough to grow from it. If you feel like it, share one word in the comments that reflects something you’re grateful for today —whether it felt good or uncomfortable. One word is plenty. That’s the practice.

You're right Wayne. I am grateful for my life, the people around me that make it easy and sometimes challenging and the ability to make decisions for myself rather than living to the expectations of others.
