Thanksgiving Thoughts
Hey guys, How was your Thanksgiving this year? Let's hear the good, the bad and the ugly.. Did you cook? What's your favorite part of the meal? What's your least favorite? What is one thing you are thankful for that isn't dependent on your circumstances? James 1:7 "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change."

@Jeremy Coots That's great man sounds like you had a great time glad you had that special time with your son. It's the simple things that really are the big things for sure!

@Shannon Michael that's a rare moment when siblings can do that, I know it is in my family, hahahhaa. Those moments are so important with our parents. I miss my mom terribly it's so hard with her not being there anymore. Yes I HATE cleaning up, why do they all want to take home a plate but not help cook or clean hahahaha
I Don't Know Anything
In 1 Corinthians 2:1-5 Paul is speaking to the church in Corinth and this is one of the things he said: "When I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. 2 For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 3 I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. 4 My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, 5 so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power." Paul was someone who could quote all the verses, had chapters and books of the Bible memorized and was an expert in knowing what the Scriptures said. By all exterior accounts he would have been extremely wise, eloquent and able to perfectly preach. But in his own words he essentially says all of that isn't what the cross and Christ's resurrection are all about. It's not about us.. but about Him. And despite everything he did know the most important thing is to know the person of Jesus and His crucifixion and resurrection. I came to you in weakness, fear and trembling... Yet the power of God falls not because of me, but in spite of me. You don't need more human wisdom you need more of God's power. So be bold and courageous in sharing the gospel and being light to those around you. It doesn't matter if you're a good public speaker or not, if you have all the verses you want memorized or not. Do you know what Jesus has done through His crucifixion, death and resurrection? Share that. How has that impacted your real life when you leaned into that? Share that. What was life like before Christ and what was it like after you encountered Him? Share that.. And watch God's power fall, not because you presented it perfect but because you got out of the way and put what He's done on full display.
