Yesterday's doings
Yesterday evening I decided to sew these pencil pouches just to complete my day and feed my soul. I picked it from my cut and store container. The one zipper pull is on the wrong end. I always make such stupid mistakes.

Nazeema they are gorgeous! Love the fabric 😍
Apron
Apron done and dusted. As always sizing, I am an XL so I will add on to the side, much too big. I enjoyed making my apron. I used quilting fabric from my stash and sheeting for the backing. M

Completed Apron
I am so excited to share the end result of my "upcycled" apron. I tweaked the apron to be a bit more versatile for our specific needs. This is what I have changed: 1. I didn't use the elastic in the neckband because I didn't have enough and the shops are closed by the time I get home from work. 2. I made an unisex apron, so I left out the ruffle as it gives a feminine look and without it my husband can use it too. 3. I added a pocket only on the one side, then you have the option if it's needed and the beautiful pictures on the one side aren't hidden. 4. I improvised and added 2 "loops" on both sides of the apron. You can clip a lighter or bottle opener to the apron as well as slide a braai tong through the bigger loop.

SEPTEMBER Sew-Along : Reversible apron with ruffle + pocket
It's time for our FIRST official sew-along 🤩 We'll be sewing a reversible apron (with optional ruffle) and I'd love for you to join! 👉 Sew-along dates: 22–29 September 2025 👉 PDF pattern in sizes toddler - adult Here’s what to expect: - You’ll get the apron pattern for free during the sew-along week. This is one of the projects from the 2024 Pattern Archive in The Creative Sewing Club - I'll post here every day for that day's task. Steps are broken down into short tasks that take 20-30min, so you don't become overwhelmed and feel like it's a huge task! - You’ll sew something practical and fun that works as a great gift, or for yourself. 🚨IMPORTANT🚨 All sew-along videos, patterns and files will only be available until the 1st of October. After this date, it will be moved back to The Creative Sewing Club library. 📋 What You’ll Need FABRIC AND NOTIONS: Based on 148cm / 58" wide fabric - This apron is reversible but can be made single-sided.  - You can squeeze a large apron out of 1m | 1yd of fabric BUT I recommend buying at least a quarter or half m | yd more - you will use the scraps again and it makes cutting the straps easier. - YOU NEED AT LEAST 1 .5 | YD FOR ADULT SIZE IF YOU’RE ADDING THE OPTIONAL RUFFLE - For the kids apron sizes you will need about 0.5m | yd of fabric - Choose a fabric that washes well, like cotton, poplin, canvas, or linen. - You’ll also need 50cm (18”) of 2.5cm (1”) wide elastic for the neckband. 🎁 Win the Beginner’s Pattern Bundle Everyone who shares their finished apron in the Beginner’s Sewing Community will be entered to win the Beginner’s Clothing Pattern Bundle. Don’t miss out! Will you be joining? Let us know in the comments 🗯️

Sew-Along postponed 🤧🤒
Hi lovelies Unfortunately I have to postpone the sew-along by a few days. What started as a head cold is now sounding suspiciously like bronchitis and my 7-months-preggo body is confined to bed rest right now! I'll post a new date soon, aiming to move it to Thursday and we can all spend the weekend sewing 😊 If you'd like to sew something in the meantime - you'll find an easy pillowcase project in the Sewing 101 course and the shorts sew-along in the classroom.
