📊 2025 Admissions Trends: What You Should Know
This year's admissions cycle saw continued record-breaking application numbers at top schools—and with it, record-low acceptance rates. 🔻 Ultra-Low Acceptance Rates at Top Schools - Harvard University: ~53,700 applications; acceptance rate ~ 3.63%. - Yale University: 50,228 applications; acceptance rate 4.6%. - Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT): 29,282 applications; acceptance rate 4.5%. - University of Chicago: 43,612 applications; acceptance rate ~4.5%. 📈 Test-Optional Policies and Their Impact Many top schools are still test-optional, but more students are choosing to submit scores anyway—because at highly selective schools, a strong SAT/ACT can still give you an edge. 📝 Emphasis on Holistic Review With testing not required, admissions offices are relying more heavily on: - Personal essays - Extracurricular activities - Letters of recommendation These components provide insight into a student's character, leadership, and potential contributions to the campus community. 💡 What This Means for Applicants In today’s admissions landscape, it’s more important than ever to take a strategic and intentional approach: ✅ If you have strong SAT/ACT scores, submitting them can give you an edge—even at test-optional schools. ✅ If you don’t, that’s okay—your application can still shine through your personal story, impact, and authenticity. ✅ Focus on crafting a compelling narrative that aligns your academics, activities, and future goals. ✅ Highlight meaningful achievements and leadership, especially in areas tied to your intended major. 🎯 Bottom line: Admissions is tougher than ever—but so are you! A thoughtful, intentional application still cuts through. You’ve got this. 💪✨

i think that due to the rise of competitiveness most of the people will stop applying to Harvard etc. as they are considered too hard to get in and harvard knows this and thats why they give us application fee waiver, but that wont stand too long. For the people who actually want to get in, they will

Stanford and what it takes to be better than 100 of the applicants.
1️⃣ Application Strategy 101: What’s Your Application Narrative? (and Why It Matters!)
You’ve got the grades. You’ve got the extracurriculars. But what ties it all together? Colleges aren’t just looking for impressive stats—they’re building a diverse class of students who bring something unique to campus. When admissions officers review your application, they’re really asking: 1️⃣ Who are you? (What defines your values, interests, and personality?) 2️⃣ How will you contribute? (What unique strengths, perspectives, or experiences will you bring?) With thousands of applications to review, they only have minutes to grasp your story. If your application feels like a random list of achievements, it won’t stand out. That’s why you need an Application Narrative. What is an Application Narrative? It’s the unifying story that connects your academics, extracurriculars, and goals. Think of it like a movie trailer—a short but powerful glimpse that leaves a lasting impression. 📌 Formula: [Primary Academic Field (intended major)] + [Secondary Academic Field (intended minor) AND/OR Core Non-Academic Activity] = Your Application Narrative Examples: 🧪 Biology + photography = A biologist using photography to promote environmental awareness. 🔧 Robotics + education = A robotics innovator expanding access to STEM education. ⚽ Psychology + Football = A football star advocating for mental health in competitive sports. Your narrative is your North Star—not something you explicitly write out, but a guiding theme that shapes your application into a cohesive, compelling story. ‼️ How to Find YOUR Application Narrative Ask yourself: ❓ What patterns stand out? What subjects and extracurriculars do you naturally excel in? ❓ What connects them? What deeper interests, skills, or values keep showing up? ❓ Where is it leading? How does this align with your intended major (and possibly minor) and future goals? 📝 Your challenge: Try writing your Application Narrative in one sentence and drop it in the comments. Let’s refine it together! ✨ Next up: How to make your entire application reflect your narrative!
