Friday Motivation
A quote I really like “It happens slower than you expected and then faster than you could imagine” Many of you have a business on the side or as a hobby. Which means you likely need to spend some of your weekends building. Many of you are making really great progress, but it doesn’t feel like it yet. You’re not seeing enough of the results that you’d like as fast as you’d like, and that’s normal. But just because you’re not selling a lot yet, doesn’t mean you're not getting closer. When I first started my printing business, I ran into so many problems. I bought all the material, and for almost the first 6 months, I didn’t sell anything... I was learning how to consistently make good signs. It was challenging. Many times, I wanted to quit and thought it was useless. But every problem I ran into, I looked at as an opportunity to learn, and once I learned it, I could remove that problem from the list. Something that really helped was making a big list of every problem I was having and then 1 by 1 working on them to try to solve. If you repeatedly do this, you will get better and closer to your goal. If you’re already good at your job, your next goal is learning how to sell. This is where your effort can really feel like it’s not working. You post a video, and it only gets a few views, and you’re upset. But you’ve now taken the first step and realize you can take another. “You can only build on success” Take what was good from that video and repeat it. Then take what you didn’t like and either improve it or remove it. If you repeatedly do this over time, you will get better. And if you’re new to social media or advertising, the results don’t usually come right away. Staying consistent and constantly trying to improve will move you forward. So just keep sticking with it. I promise every person (including me) struggled when starting social media. But the world rewards those who keep showing up. So good luck to everyone building this weekend. I’ve got my plans laid out and will be continuing to work all weekend, so just know that you’re not alone!
