Anthropic is talking to Samsung about building its first custom AI chip. Until now Anthropic has relied on Nvidia and Google TPUs, so this would be its first serious in-house silicon play, and it pushes Samsung deeper into a race most people thought belonged to TSMC. If you build anything on top of Claude, this matters long term. Hardware choices today shape pricing and capacity for a year from now, and Anthropic is clearly trying to control its own supply chain.
