Hi Dr. Weir! I've spoken to you about my own situation. But, I have a question for a friend. She was married for well over 10 years then divorced. She is 63 years old and will file at 67. She will receive very little because she has worked for a school district for 25 years and will receive her pension from there (and it's still not much!) I told her she could file on her ex-husband's SS benefits as well. She didn't think she could and she thinks he'll die before she reaches full retirement age. If he dies before she files, can she still file on his social security as well?
