@Molly Murray thank you for holding this incredible space where creativity flows with such freedom and magic. I’m beginning to understand why I’ve felt such a pull towards you and this community, because at my core, I’ve always been a bit of a rebel, and creativity has always been my language of resistance and self-expression. For my university dissertation, I wrote a play exploring my Italian identity through the lens of classic Renaissance paintings, particularly the raw, emotional works of Caravaggio. That exploration lit a fire in me that’s never gone out. I believe sovereignty is something we reclaim through our creativity, through voice, vision, movement, and storytelling. It’s why my partner and I co-created Wesion, a platform designed to support sovereign creators in a community-owned way. Right now, I’m launching a podcast that dives into sovereignty in all its forms, and I’m on the lookout for amazing guests. I’m also in the early stages of building a new festival, a space for creatives to showcase work that speaks to the theme of sovereignty in whatever way it wants to come through.
