Honestly speaking, I am a realist, and I initially had a difficult time engaging with this program. However, after a discussion with Jeff, I was able to get out of my head and allow myself to dream. In doing so, I discovered some things I genuinely liked about the Golden City. I loved that the city was clean and that AI was responsible for maintaining it. Everything felt beautiful, organized, and well cared for. I liked the idea of having AI that cooks, cleans, and keeps things in order. I also loved the futuristic elements—the ability to ride a motorcycle, and the fact that trains, cars, and airplanes all move faster. What stood out to me was the abundance of plants everywhere. I imagined the air being clean and refreshing. The Golden City did not feel isolated, which I appreciated. I also noticed the presence of religion—I saw a church, or at least a spiritual symbol—and that mattered to me. What I’m still sitting with is this question: What would I add to the city? Right now, I don’t fully know. I didn’t see much around community projects, art, or creativity, and that feels important to me. I plan to watch it again to see what feels missing for me personally.
