I want to tell you about Jimmie and Adonis. It started with a cold call. Jimmie answered. He was ill, and keeping up his 2 acre property had become more than he could handle. He needed help. But he didn't want to list. He and his neighbors were very close, and he didn't want them to know he was sick. He didn't want them to know he was selling, either. He didn't want to hurt them or worry them. So I didn't push. I stayed in contact. Every couple of weeks, I checked in. And every single time, I asked him what he NEEDED. Then I served. And I kept serving. Then one day, I got a text from Jimmie's phone. But it wasn't Jimmie. It was Adonis, his wife. She told me Jimmie had passed. And before he passed, he told her to use me to sell the home. Let that sink in for a second. This is the goal. Always. This is what brings purpose to your prospecting. You aren't chasing listings. You are building a business by serving the people who need you. I won't pretend this sale was easy. Termites turned up only a few weeks after we went active. We battled with termite bonds. Adonis was facing her first holidays without Jimmie, processing grief, watching her finances dwindle, and more. We faced all of it. Together. And I never would have found her if I hadn't picked up that phone. My only regret? I never met Jimmie face to face. I probably would've loved him too. So when you pick up the phone this week, remember this. The person on the other end might need you long before they're ready to list. Ask what they need. Then serve. 👇 Drop a comment: Who is someone you've been staying in touch with who isn't ready yet? Tell me what they need, and let's figure out how you can serve them.
