INTRODUCE YOURSELF 🀝
Now that you know where you are, let's get to know each other. I'll go first. Ria. Bangalore, India. I spent 10 years in corporate as a senior project manager before burnout landed me in hospital at 30. Leaving wasn't the plan. Building something of my own definitely wasn't the plan. And yet here we are! What brought me here was you, honestly. The version of you that's exhausted and quietly wondering if there's another way. I've been that person and I built this community so nobody has to figure it out alone. Your turn. Drop your introduction below and tell us: πŸ‘€ Your name πŸ’Ό What you do right now πŸ“ Where you're based πŸ—ΊοΈ Where you are in your journey β€” still in corporate, planning your exit, or already out? πŸ’¬ What brought you here I'll be reading every single one. πŸ‘‡

Hi Ria and everyone, I'm Nikhil, based in New Delhi, with over a decade in software. I've been through layoffs before, but this time I chose to leave. The reason: constant pressure and no mental space to exist beyond work. I usually clocked 9 hours at the office, but my mind stayed at work for 15. Anxiety episodes, sleepless nights, shrinking confidence, and a growing aversion to something I'd once enjoyed. What made the call harder β€” I had a stable job, decent income, and was a few years away from hitting my FIRE number. But I left anyway. I'm currently serving my notice period, using this time to decompress, slow down, and figure out what comes next. I'm here to learn β€” the what, the why, and the how of building something outside the conventional path. Outside work, I read, write fiction, garden, compost, travel, and hike. Also attempting to learn an instrument (currently on pause, but not abandoned).

Hey, I'm Nikhil. After a stint of more than a decade, I left corporate with no job offer. Building a life which doesn't start and end with a job.
