You did not come here because everything is fine
School failed your child. Now what? Maybe it happened suddenly. A meltdown that never stopped. A refusal that became permanent. A phone call from school that made you realise they had never actually seen your child at all. Maybe it happened slowly. Year after year of watching them shrink. Watching the curiosity disappear. Watching them learn that they were the problem — when they were never the problem. Maybe you saw it coming before they even started. You knew the system was not built for them. You just needed to find a way out. However you got here — you made the right call. Because here is what the system will not tell you: Your child does not need fixing. They need conditions where they can actually grow. A child who feels safe will learn. A child in survival mode cannot. A child whose needs are met will thrive. A child whose needs are ignored will shut down. Home education is not a last resort. It is a first choice for families who refuse to watch their child disappear into a system that was never designed for them. What happens now: You take it one day at a time. You deschool — give your child time to rest, recover, and remember who they are before the system told them who they weren't. You find your rhythm. You discover what your child is like when they are not in survival mode. It will surprise you. You find your community. Because you cannot do this alone — and you do not have to. We have everything you need to begin: ✦ The Legal Vault — your rights, the deregistration guide, and LA letter templates ready to send ✦ Curriculum guides for every age from 3 to 16 in standard and easy read formats ✦ SEN resources — specialist support for autism, ADHD, dyslexia, PDA, and more ✦ Still and Nourished — regulation and wellbeing tools for your child and for you ✦ A community of families who have been exactly where you are right now You do not have to have it all figured out. You just have to begin. Join free. Everything else follows from there. 🌱 skool.com/the-thriving-child-4074

The Children's Wellbeing Bill — What You Need to Know
🚨 URGENT — What the Children's Wellbeing Bill Means For Your Family The Children's Wellbeing and Schools Bill is expected to receive Royal Assent at Easter 2026. This is the biggest change to home education law in the UK in decades. Here is what is changing: ✦ Mandatory registration — all home educating families in England must register with their local authority. This is new. ✦ Local authority consent — if your child is being withdrawn from school and there are existing safeguarding concerns, you will need LA consent before withdrawing. ✦ Home visits — LAs can request a visit within 15 days of registration. You still have the right to decline. Written evidence is always a valid alternative. What is NOT changing: ✦ You do not need permission to home educate ✦ You do not need to follow the National Curriculum ✦ You do not need qualified teachers ✦ Your right to home educate remains fully protected under Section 7 of the Education Act 1996 What to do right now: 1. Download the free Children's Wellbeing Bill 2026 plain English guide in The Legal Vault — everything explained clearly with no jargon. 2. Download the UK Deregistration Guide — your full legal rights explained step by step. 3. Download six ready to send LA Letter Templates — for every situation you may face with your local authority. All three are free in The Legal Vault at skool.com/the-thriving-child-4074 If you are considering deregistering — do it now before the Bill passes. Current law still applies until Royal Assent. If you have already deregistered — your existing provision is not affected. Continue as normal. We will update this post the moment Royal Assent is confirmed. The Thriving Child is your real time guide through every change in home education law. You are protected. You are informed. You are not alone. — The Thriving Child
