Reporting back on the concert: It was soooo good. It's incredible just how clean they both play, especially Gilbert. He played some simpler lines at Lane speed; I never knew he could do that and my friend and I were caught off guard. Andy Timmons once said at Paul Gilbert's Great Guitar Escape in 2022 that Gilbert was possibly the greatest guitarist ever. I'm not sure if I'd put him at number 1, but my God does he deserve to be in that conversation. Koch was also really incredible. The feel that man has is next level. The moment he started playing "Cause We've Ended As Lovers" I was so excited to hear his interpretation, and I wasn't disappointed at all. What an incredible musician. His son's a great drummer and his keyboardist is amazing, too. Great Trio. Only downside was Paul's drummer. I don't know if he was drunk, tired, all of the above, or neither, but he wasn't on his game and messed up quite a bit. I'm surprised that Paul's drummer was like that. Otherwise, really incredible show! Highly recommend it if it's in your area.
