Some snippets of that original version would make for a good contemporary television show theme. I recall hearing that he took inspiration from movie soundtracks as well; I can hear that here.

@Jimmy Hudson Whoa, now THAT'S some lost media I hope family/friends still have somewhere! I had no idea he went that far and had that much soundtrack material. I can only imagine how good it sounds.
We Have Some Very Talented Players in Here, Lets Hear Each other Play
Let's welcome all of our new members yall, also, I want everyone to post a video or YouTube link of themselves, not matter your level. Don't be shy as we all started somewhere and I want this group to be something where we can all chime in and participate and bring each other up as player. I have been teaching for literally 30 years now and I have learned a lot from my students over the years. I know @Sid Woolfolk will agree with me on this but the biggest challenge when I was a student at The Atlanta Institute of Music in the Beginning was Rock Performance Class. I was told the students these days even have a harder time because most of them play at very low volumes or in headsets even with the new tech upbringing. Man I tell you what, the first Performance class all the students on all levels and pretty much all the teachers show up because they want to know who the movers and shakers are. A group like this and Music school is different because just about everyone is really good so it is kinda intimidating but I want yall to work with each other and lets bring each other up. Let's see videos yall! @Pete Pachio is an amazing player and a fellow student of Shawns! Also I want to thank every one of yall from the bottom of my heart for helping us build this. I know money is tight for some of yall, thats why we are doing the $29 per month or $300 per year offer and you will lock that rate in for being one of our OG's for something that is going to be huge in the near future and blow up! Once I get to 10 or so paid Members it goes up to $50 per month or $500 per year, then $100/ $1,000! Jump on this yall and also top right corner I believe, check out our very generous affiliate program as you can actually get paid to refer people! Thank Yall, We love and appreciate every one of you and will be delivering an amazing guitar system. WE ALREADY ARE! BTW the way to level up on here is Participation and getting likes and comments. So like other peoples stuff and get liked and one day we will all hold Black Guitar Straps! lol If I missed anyone, please post yourself in the comments! We have some amazing talent here!

Figure I should also upload something I wrote rather than just 7+ year-old shreddy improv. I think this was from 2020 for a contest. I'd love any feedback you're willing to offer.

@Jimmy Hudson Thank you so much for that! Unfortunately, that was my best take, even compared to the final version, so that's all I have. I've checked out a couple of the videos thus far. Work schedule has been absolutely nutty this week, so haven't implemented them just yet. I downloaded the Interval Matrix Pro, though! Looking forward to trying that out.
Shawns Favorite Chord Book, Chord Chemistry by Ted Greene
I have been playing around with different configurations to teach the fretboard with cameras, books/ notation, Interval Matrix Pro, and the Light up Guitar Neck on my Fishman Triple Play. Let me know what yall think? I get a lot of people asking how to use the app and here is a great example. Shawn also really loved Ted Greenes Guitar Playing. Here is a copy of Chord Chemistry in PDF as well ;)

Doesn't surprise me that Ted Greene was his favorite; what an incredible player. As someone with smaller hands and limited stretching capability, those stretches of his make me wince, lol.
Shawn Lane related items
Here is a place to post Shawn Lane related items. Photos or videos of cds, videos clips, amps, guitars, picks, and shirts. These don't have to be formally owned by Shawn, associated with him.

My baby. Bought this with some car accident money back in 2013. Saw the specs and assumed Shawn would know the ideal guitar when he designed it—yup, he did. It plays like a dream; super light on the fretting hand. The flat fretboard takes a bit of getting used to, but damn it if it ain't worth every penny. It's still my primary instrument; barely bought anything since, because it's just that good. Also, ignore the spring cleaning mess 😆

@Jimmy Hudson That sounds amazing! I'm sure it'll play and feel incredible.
Bill Oliver just shared this with me yall! I didnt even know it existed!
It took us years to get Shawn a Brass Note on Beale Street in Memphis even though he and the Willys where a core part of making it what it was in the 80s which led to the future development of Beale Street as we know it!

I remember that whole saga trying to get the Brass Note. It was very exciting to see him be formally acknowledged as a legend of Memphis.
