Utensils and Cultural Dishes
It’s interesting how different cultures developed their own ways of eating and table setting for utensils. Chopsticks, forks, spoons, even eating with your hands all came from what foods people were cooking and how they prepared them. Most traditional chefs that studied in culinary school have their curriculum based on French or UK. I'm a cross of self study and a bit of traditional culinary study from commercial books. But with regards to utensils, it tells a story about the culture behind the meal, not just French or UK based on setting utensils. Once you notice it, the table becomes part of the dining experience too. Have you ever tried eating a dish the traditional way from another culture, and did it change how the food felt? Did you feel awkward eating using a utensils that you are not a custom to in a group?

You're totally right Robert! It feels different and I think it is the most beautiful feeling about discovering new food culture.
