Are there are resources or pointers on researching markets to invest in?

Hi all, My wife Dominique and I are new to the group and new to STRs in general. I'd heard there are several other Smoky Mtns investors here, so I'm curious if anyone has a cleaning service and/or handyman that they would recommend? We live in California, so we're hoping to find some very trustworthy "boots on the ground" people or services that could help us keep our investment in great shape between our in-person visits and respond to guests' needs. We welcome any and all suggestions, and thank you in advance!

Im trying to qualify for the STR tax loophole 100+ and more than anyone else. My cleaner does all her billing through a company name. When making sure I participate more than her, am I chasing the one actually doing the cleaning or everyone within that company? Different people do the cleanings, however all the charges are through the same company name. TIA

Is it too late to consider adding a property for tax year 2026 if we haven't started the search yet?

Hi Everyone! My husband and I are looking to save on taxes so that we are able to be able to provide for and secure a future for our kids. We have a special needs kid and my biggest fear is what would happen to him we die. And we are hoping to build something that can help keep him afloat when we are gone. We currently have 2 properties - 1 STR and 1 rental townhomes in the Chicago area. Our biggest challenge right now is how much we pay in taxes. We are hoping to learn from this group and grow our portfolio.
