How do we know that whether we have been awakened or not ? 🤔

I watched recently watched a video titled "People have sacrificed their blood for this knowledge" something similar to that. But I couldn't find that video now. However I had this question when you said to ask "Is this thought serving me or not?" When practicing this sometimes there are some heavy thoughts coming and we do not how to surrender to that. How do we address this issue?
