My current self torture
Okay okay I'll stop being self conscious. Here is what I'm working on right now and breaking apart. I really want to improve my vocals so I've been practicing singing intervals and each note I play again, as I haven't practiced it much since I was probably 20 or so. In turn, I started learning Stellar Rays as a way to accomplish multiple feats in one fell swoop. This is the progress so far. Not concise and leaves much to be desired, but it's something.

New Course on Understanding Indian Music is Up! & Shawn in India
I have had a lot of people ask me over the years about Shawn's Indian Music. See the Indian people really respected him because instead doing what most of the other Western Musicians would do where they would go to India and Put on a Toga and Sandals and take a marker and put a dot on their forehead then go buy a Sitar and play what they thought sounded like Indian Music. Shawn actually studied and learned real Indian Music and Understood it very well and the Indian people respected that and Shawn was treated like Royalty Over There. In fact this video is a Great Glimpse of who Shawn was off the stage and it was taken after a show in India and just watch the topics he would go through in conversation! Shawn was all over the place here. lmao So I compiled a bunch of Information I have on Indian Music and a Bunch of stuff online and had AI help me generate a video and then I have the transcripts and Course Outline on there and its pretty thorough.

I just had a friend send me a bunch of notes of mine he kept when I was studying Indian music at around 18-19. I have tons of raga patterns in there that I'm mulling over. Realizing I've been utilizing them instinctively for well over a decade now.

@Jimmy Hudson he has been sending them as pictures as he finds them in his binders. I have two right now he sent me, one is Raga Asavari in C, but the pattern as with anything in guitar, is transferable. I actually will post a video of me playing Not Again relatively soon here as I haven't been posting. But that's because I over practiced recently and hurt my hand so I've been resting as to not cause permanent damage. I'd be more than happy to attempt to create something to help people if the information and things I discovered can be useful to them. I can say the first thing about Raga scales and most Indian music is to think about it like a Harmonic or Melodic minor. They ascend differently than they descend.

Shawn Lane related items
Here is a place to post Shawn Lane related items. Photos or videos of cds, videos clips, amps, guitars, picks, and shirts. These don't have to be formally owned by Shawn, associated with him.

@Chris Alexander there's nothing quite like figured maple! I worked in and graded lumber for a living at one point. You really learn to appreciate gorgeous pieces of wood like the figured maple here. Not to mention, orange has always been my favorite color. What a steal of a find. I wish I had anything relative to Shawn to share, but alas, I don't.
Q&A So I am going to make this available for all members!
Any questions about Shawn or the method or anything like that put them here. I was trying to find a private forum just for the paid tiers but school is telling me to put it on here that it will help people want to convert! For my paying members they will all tell you that it is very much so well worth it and they are learning a lot. We welcome you to join! You get access to me and Sid and if you have a problem with something one of us will immediately address it for you as we are both extremely experienced teachers! I have 30 years experience and Sid was my teacher and has literally 50 years experience, actually more than that because he was teaching David Ragsdale Guitar at a very young age so I will dare say Sid has 60 years of experience teaching guitar! So I am going to move everything on the Q&A to this board! Feel free to post any questions here.

@Jimmy Hudson this is such warming things to here and I will say as an adult my reading habits have gotten poor but up until my mid 20s I was much of the same way with reading. I would bring my kindle everywhere. I think it was around 12-13 in middle school I was reading about Marxism and Poe as I was a very curious child and the teachers called my mother out of concern for my mental health. As well as getting in trouble for some of my poetry being too real. I am proud that recently I did start reading again. One of my favorite quotes to this day still is a Mckenna quote which is as follows; "We are alienated, so alienated that the self must disguise itself as an extraterrestrial in order not to alarm us with the truly bizarre dimensions that it encompasses." I grew up in Connecticut right near Mystic Aquarium. I used to love going there for field trips or with family. Along with collecting CDs, books, records. My mom was a huge music fan and avid reader herself so if I asked for any cd when I was younger she would but it. I definitely am not ambidextrous to write a letter and numbers at the same time though! That's an impressive feat!

@Jimmy Hudson I can handle and enjoy things like eel but never could I do a fish head. I spent a lot of time at a sushi bar in my area where i grew up drinking sake with the chefs and eating sushi. They would constantly feed me stuff like eel, shark, calamari, and many more
