As some of you may know, approximately eight months ago, my 13-year-old daughter began experiencing some sort of neurological event. She has since reverted to the stage of a two year-old. She urinates and defecates herself. She cannot eat food without assistance. She has a little to no communication abilities. And at this time, we have no diagnosis. It has been quite a roller coaster ride, especially for my wife. This past weekend, my daughter was also diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. We were already spending over $600 a month on medications for the neurological event, now we have to add the diabetes treatment. This has been extremely difficult on my wife. Our 7 year wedding anniversary is December 21. Does anyone have access to any kind of bed-and-breakfast or timeshare or any structure that we could stay at for a night or two in celebration of our anniversary? My wife desperately needs to get away for a few days. With all of Violet’s medical expenses, I can’t even afford a hotel room somewhere. I don’t think I’ve ever asked anyone for help, so this is difficult for me to type. Please help me help my wife.

The “Shine”. I called it my “Swagger”. That candle burned out many years ago. Between the scars inflicted by others, the self-inflicted thick callouses, and the walls I’ve since constructed to protect it from others and myself, my shine seems more like a dark shadow, hidden in a dark cave , on the dark side of the moon.
