In a recent interview, UFC veteran Matt Brown addressed the backlash against Sean Strickland following UFC 312. Brown expressed surprise that people are taking Strickland's comments seriously, stating, "When did we start listening to what fighters say?" He emphasized that fighters often make provocative statements and that the public shouldn't be overly concerned with their remarks. Brown also noted that those upset with Strickland's behavior have only themselves to blame for expecting him to act differently
This crap is why I feel like MMA is losing me like other โprofessionalโ sports. If you have a mike, want to talk ignorantly, then you should expect it back. Say since Iโm white trash I can call others white trash is just dumb, IMO. When did we start listening to what they say, when they decided to get in front of a microphone.
