An old belief. An automatic habit. An expectation you’ve never questioned. Sometimes the things draining us are so familiar, we barely notice them. They might sound like: 💭 “I should be able to handle this.” 💭 “If I slow down, I’ll fall behind.” 💭 “I can’t let anyone down.” 💭 “I need to feel ready before I start.” 💭 “I’ll rest when everything is finished.” These ghosts can follow us into work, training, relationships and the quiet moments when we’re trying to switch off. Maybe being the person who always coped helped you through a difficult chapter. Maybe saying yes brought opportunities. Maybe preparing for every possibility helped you feel more confident. It makes sense that those patterns became familiar. But are they still helping you now? Being capable doesn’t mean you have unlimited capacity. And an old expectation doesn’t automatically deserve a place in your next chapter. This week, let’s give one of those ghosts a little less say. 👀 🔍 AWARENESS What thought or habit keeps showing up when you’re under pressure? What does it push you to do? 🔋 CAPACITY What is that pattern costing you in energy, focus, recovery or connection? 🧭 STRUCTURE What small change would help you respond differently next time? For example: 👻 The belief: “I can’t let anyone down.” 🔁 The habit: Saying yes before checking whether you have the time or energy. 🌱 The change: Practise saying, “Let me check what I can realistically commit to and come back to you.” You don’t need to banish every ghost by bedtime. 😂 Start with one you can notice and one different response you can practise. Finish this sentence in the comments: “The ghost I’m giving less say to this week is ______.” If you’re comfortable, share what you’ll try instead. 🧡
