PTN's FIRST LIVE LISTENING SESSION - NEXT WEDNESDAY, Dec 10 @ 7 PM - (CENTRAL TIMEZONE)
We are opening submissions for our upcoming PTN Live Listening Session, and we pushed it one week to give everyone time to get through the holidays, get back into their flow, and breathe a little before we meet. This session is focused on music for visual media, so please read this before you send anything in. (Submission Info Below) We are looking to listen to cues/tracks that feel purpose-driven, structured, and built with a visual/picture in mind. Think arcs, scenes, Ads, trailers, moments, and pacing. Music that could live under a story. Your cue does not need to be perfect; it just needs intention. If it feels ā€œalmost readyā€ or you want clarity on whether it truly lands for film, TV, trailers, or branded media, this room is for you. Before you submit, ask yourself: • Does this cue move, or can it work in visual media/support Visuals? • Does it have a good structure, or is this something I need help with? • Can you hear it under a scene? • Does it have a Sting? What is a Sting? • Is the mix in a place where someone could judge the idea, or is it even "ready"? If ANY of this FITS, or you can use this help... send it. SUBMIT Via Email HERE - šŸ‘‰šŸ¼ listenlive@paintthenoise.com-- CUTOFF at 7 pm on TUESDAY - (12/09 ) We will go through the submissions and feature as many cues as we can within the session window. Wednesday night, 12/10, we listen. Bring your best.

First Official Live Music Review 12/10
Yooo I’m sure you all have seen the post by @Gilde Flores for how to submit for PTN’s first official review! Make sure to review his post if you haven’t already. Just wanted to say I am extremely excited to hear what everyone in this group is cookin up. Excited to learn, grow, get some pointers on how to improve, and to win those briefs! I know this group is going to bring nothing but šŸ”„! Can’t wait!

Trust & Discernment
As a singer/philosopher whose mission is elevating people through music I want to be aligned with people who also are on the same mission. Just received a partnership with someone who seems like it would be a great flow right into ā€œWinningā€ on surface level. As tempting, I feel a pull to say no since it’s feeling too easy.. am I missing a good opportunity or discerning what’s on mission? How to know the truth?

Keeping your head above water
Howdy everybody! As musicians artists and workers I know we all must have an inherent passion and love for our craft but I feel like sometimes most certainly in the music grind you can feel so behind or just not cut out for it, whether ability or just headspace! recently it’s a real struggle sometimes it can even feel daunting to open up the DAW! Whether it’s the stress of life or the worries of not delivering a solid musical product. Sometimes it can just feel overwhelming. I wanted to come here though to chat with all you awesome people to ask, how do you guys handle yourself when the work gets too much, or the worries outweigh the flow! How do you guys step away and re center yourself when it’s becoming a bit of a mental storm? And remember we can all do this together, it’s ok to struggle, and no one is alone! ā¤ļø : )

@Colby Canterbury man I felt this post! This happens to all of us and know the feeling all too well. What works for me is I like to take a walk, go to the gym, or just watch some cartoons. Then after an hour or so I get back into it. You may not always feel like creating and that’s okay. Sometimes you need to step away to bring out your best work.
Funk/Soul Horn Sections
What are you all using for horn sections - like Tower of Power type funk/soul sections. I’ve been using NI Session Horns pro and sometimes track the instruments separately (trumpets, sexes, trombones). But wondering if any of you have found a realistic VST out there?
