Print Quality A1 vs. P2S vs. X2D
Hi Lads, I am currently thinking about which printer I should get in addition to my P2S. I am at a point where a single printer isn't enough to cover sample prints and orders at the same time. I sell decoration products, so for me a very good top layer is very important. A lot of you guys have different printers, so hopefully someone has the option to compare the print quality between the series. Does an A1 do significantly worse than a P2S / X2D in terms of top layer? (It doesn't need to use Ironing) I would prefer to get 1-2 A1's to maximize the output, but if there's a huge difference, I'd probably go for the X2D. Thanks in advance!

I’m not sure about the top layer, but they print differently for sure, and you’ll need to adapt printing profiles in Slicer for them, so it might take some time and trials. I had P1s and got two A1s, and they take up so much space, and prints come out differently.

In terms of quality, I think A1 is still a good printer for simple parts, but I think you should invest in better printers because you mentioned that you’re selling decor. I sell decor myself, and I know how frustrating it is to end up with defects.
💼 Community Jobs Board
Looking for fulfillment partners outside of Germany. 🌍 I regularly receive orders from customers in other countries where shipping from Germany is slow or expensive. Instead of turning those orders away I want to work with people in the community who can handle fulfillment locally. What this means: you print and ship my products to customers in your country. I send you the files, specs and quality standards. You handle production and shipping locally. One important detail: I use ironing on most of my products for a clean smooth surface finish. I need to know if your setup supports this reliably before we move forward. If you are interested drop a comment with: 🏳️ Your country 🖨️ Your printer setup ✅ Does your slicer and printer support ironing reliably? Yes or No 📦 Do you have experience fulfilling orders and shipping to customers 🚀 VIP / Premium members get priority but everyone can apply. Let's build something global together. 👇🏼

I was actually thinking about doing something like this too – especially for scaling internationally. One thing I’m curious about though: how do you protect your product if it has a unique design? Since you’re sharing files/specs, what’s stopping someone from reusing or selling it themselves? Would love to hear how you approach that @Nils Osterhues

@Nils Osterhues Exactly – that’s literally what I’m dealing with right now. There are hundreds of fake listings of my product, and some are even running ads using AI-edited versions of my photos. A friend suggested filing a design patent so I can actually take down listings on platforms like Amazon, and I’m in the process of doing that now. But at the same time, I don’t think protection alone is enough – constantly releasing new designs and staying ahead is just as important.
Don’t Sleep on the Classroom Page
Hi everyone! I’ve been treating this group more like a forum and didn’t really check out the classroom page at first. I already had solid demand for my 3D printing product and was making good profit even though I only started about a month ago. But I recently went through the classroom, and there’s actually a lot of valuable stuff in there. If you’re running a business, I definitely recommend checking it out – there are plenty of useful tips, even if you already have some experience. Thanks to Nils for putting all of this together. I’d love to see more advanced lessons too – you’ve got a lot of knowledge to share.

Also, one thing that could be really helpful to include in the classroom is a section about keeping a security stock of essentials – like nozzles, filament, and other consumables.
Shipping Boxes
Where do you guys get your shipping boxes from? Whats the cheapest?

I used to buy heavy-duty ones in bulk, but then I decided to give a shot to little pricier ones, and they came out very good, with sharp edges and a clean look. It improves the product experience. both from amazon
The new Bambu Lab X2D is finally here 👀
Are you picking one up, or sticking with the P2S / P1S (or whatever you're currently running)? Curious to hear what everyone’s thinking - upgrade hype or holding off?

@Dmytro Vlasov don’t get A1. I got two of them after using p1s and they take up so much space and I always have a problem adapting profiles for each of them
