Want to Learn to Speak Mandarin in 6 months? 💬🗓️
If I had to start learning Mandarin again from zero, and I only had 6 months, this is exactly how I’d do it. In this video, I break down the approach I would use now — after more than 10 years of learning and teaching Mandarin — to start speaking confidently, without overwhelm. This video is for you if: -You want to hold real conversations in Mandarin -You feel stuck memorising words but can’t build sentences -You want a clear, simple structure for learning -Your main goal is speaking, not writing characters What you’ll learn in this video: -Why sentence building matters more than random vocabulary -The 7 Power Verbs that unlock thousands of conversations -How to use shadowing (listen + repeat) to improve pronunciation -Why feedback and speaking with others is essential How to make progress with little daily practice, even if you’re busy.T his video focuses on spoken Mandarin and communication, not reading or writing characters. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8XWc3lOrDDo
New to mandarin :D
I would like to know the very basics, but most apps are jumping to sentences very quickly. It’s not that i don’t understand, but i would like to know how to communicate better! (most apps need premium subscriptions for in detail content..) For lack of better word, i would like to answer questions. I can tell someone my name in mandarin, but not the color of my hair. I can say what i like to drink, but not my favorite food. (i hope this makes sense lol.)

Hi Ari! That’s a very common issues, especially with apps! You may find our Beginner Mandarin Podcast (find it in Classroom) useful as we have lots of episodes teaching vocabulary, structures and some example sentences across a range of basic topics. (More coming soon!) We also have some short story podcasts that are a bit more challenging. But everything is broken down and you can always ask any questions you have in the community or send me a message :)
