What is a Self-Tape?
✨ Hello, Starmaker Community! What if your child's next big opportunity began with just one video? Have you been hearing the term "self-tape" and wondering what it really means? Understanding the audition process is one of the best ways you can support your talented child as they pursue their dreams. A self-tape is a video audition that performers submit to casting directors for opportunities in television, film, commercials, voice-over, theater, and more. It's their chance to showcase their talent, personality, and professionalism while making a memorable first impression. Today's entertainment industry relies heavily on self-tapes, and a great one can lead to a callback—or even a booking. At AGI Entertainment, we help prepare our students for these opportunities by teaching them how to create confident, professional self-tapes. When a self-tape request comes in, we're also here to assist them in our studio, helping them present their very best. Want to see what a professional self-tape looks like? Check out our AGI Self-Taping Standards here: [Click Here]. ✨ Remember: • Every self-tape is an opportunity to make a great first impression. • Preparation builds confidence. • Authenticity helps your child stand out. • Professional guidance can elevate every audition. • Every self-tape is one step closer to achieving their dreams. Let's check out what every Superstar parent should know about self-tape!

@Spiceda Jackson yes! We do them now, but we will do one for parents as well so you all will be able to confidently do them at home. We will do this in our homeschool class and our Saturday class.
What is an Availability Check?
An Availability Check is exciting because it means your performer is being seriously considered for a role. However, it's important to remember that it is not an official booking. Production teams use Availability Checks to confirm that an actor is available for filming, rehearsals, or performance dates before making their final casting decision. When you receive one, respond promptly and honestly. Being professional, reliable, and communicative helps build a positive reputation in the entertainment industry. Remember: ⭐ An Availability Check means you're being seriously considered for a role. ⭐ It is not a booking or guarantee that you'll be cast. ⭐ Respond quickly with your accurate availability. ⭐ Once you've confirmed your availability, avoid accepting conflicting work unless instructed otherwise by your agent or casting office. ⭐ Every step in the casting process is an opportunity to demonstrate professionalism. Every audition, callback, and Availability Check is another step forward in your Superstar's journey. Stay prepared, stay professional, and trust the process, your next opportunity could be just around the corner. ✨ Superstar Parents, let's take a closer look at what an Availability Check is and why understanding this important step can help you confidently navigate the casting process.

@Spiceda Jackson this is a good discussion point. Your agent is always working for you. So if you say you are unavailable when they get you booked and that happens 3 times they will drop you. Book out means I’m going on a vacation and I don’t want you to Work for me for this time. I don’t recommend that really ever. We can discuss this on my next “StarMaker Live”. This is a great question.

📸 HEADSHOT DO’S & DON’TS
Hello Community! One of the most important tools you or your performer will have is a professional headshot. It is often the first impression agents, casting directors, and industry professionals receive before an audition is ever scheduled. This week, we're sharing a quick guide to help families better understand current industry standards and common mistakes to avoid when updating headshots. Small details can make a big difference in how your performer is presented professionally. Take a moment to review the guidelines and see the samples from our Coaches and Staff.
