Is there a free way to track link clicks & phone number clicks on a website that's reliable?
I've been using Google Analytics to track these clicks on my clients' sites but it doesn't seem to be very accurate. I can't figure out if that's because I don't have it set up right or if that's because it's just not a reliable way to track link clicks & phone number clicks (maybe bot traffic has something to do with that). Does anyone know of a reliable way to track these clicks for free? If Google Analytics is the answer, does anyone have tips for troubleshooting why the numbers are so "off" on my clients' websites? I'm open to paying for a software (like CallRail) if that's really the only reliable way to track phone calls from SEO. Thanks in advance for any help you guys can offer!

I use free call now button plug in for calls. It can be setup in GA for tracking. Pretty sure you can also set up link clicks on their paid version. You say not sure......have you personally tested?

@Britt Spradlin I definitely share how many calls they got from the call now button on mobile. Itโs powerful when you can say you got 60 calls that we KNOW about last monthโฆ. In my opinion business owners care more about getting actual jobs than where their site is ranking. A site can rank but not convertโฆ.
