How much can a system carry?
This week, my publication will be officially released with a DOI (a permanent academic registration that makes the work citable and part of the scholarly record). The topic may sound complex, but it is actually about something many people recognize. Crisis rarely happens suddenly. It builds over time. In families. In care systems. In housing. In institutions. Pressure accumulates. And when there is not enough stability or support to balance it, a boundary is eventually crossed. My work focuses on a simple but important question: How much can a system carry before it becomes too much? Instead of asking “what went wrong?” after escalation, I look at what needs to be in place to prevent it. For me, this is not just theory. It is about designing stability - in housing, in care structures, and in the way systems work together. Prevention is not waiting for things to fall apart. Prevention is making sure the foundation is strong enough. -

Hi New Members - Nice to meet you!
Hey everyone! So happy you’re here 🤍 If you feel like it, go ahead and introduce yourself in the comments. I’d love to know who you are, what brought you here, and how you’re connected to this space - and honestly, anything you feel like sharing about yourself or your work. Would really love to hear from you 🙂 I’ll go first ⬇️

I’ll go first 🤍 I’m Nancy, a mom of two children with autism and intellectual disabilities. My kids have high support needs, so a lot of my life revolves around figuring out what actually works day to day - especially when it comes to structure, transitions, and avoiding overload. I’m also the founder of Mea Vota, which I started based on my own experience and the need to create something that truly supports families in real life, not just on paper. Really glad you’re here, and I’m looking forward to getting to know you all 🤍
