Hello All! My name is MyDarian Booker. I am finishing up my 7th year in education. My journey has been a rocky one. I started teaching mid-year right after graduation. I spent a year and half in the classroom and right when I found my sweet spot, COVID hit and we shut down. I spent the next year teaching virtually, and I just have been able to shake back and get back to the teacher I know I can be. It’s almost like Covid created this block that I haven’t been able to get past. I teach English and have taught every grade, 7-12. Middle school has my heart, but I am currently teaching juniors and seniors. I would love to be able to be more confident in the classroom. I have the skill, I just need to trust myself and my abilities.

@Daryl Williams Jr. My journey in education has been so rough. I spent my years in school being constantly told that I didn't deserve to be an educator and that I needed to choose a different career path. I got into education and had to teach myself so much to make it through the job I started mid-year. I became so knowledgeable that my mentors believed I didn't need help. So, I know my content, but I’ve missed out on the classroom management tips and tricks, which have dealt heavy blows to my confidence. So I guess for me, I need something that allows me to be me, but also allows me to be in charge of my classroom. I’ve built relationships with students, that's a gift, but also learning to use those relationships to my advantage would be amazing.
